Took my 2009 Tacoma TRD in for service 2 months ago - told them to check the frame while they had it.
SO - they found a hole and replaced the whole frame. Wahoo! Impressed at Toyotas' grit - bummed that they STILL have frame issues [they recalled and crushed my 2000 Tacoma].
Drove it for a few days. Getting noise in the front. Took it in. They found metal shavings in the front diff, so they replaced that too. Wahoo! Although - I never had any issues with the front diff, new is new.
Drove it 2 days - 4wd light on dash is flashing non-stop. Back to dealer. New actuator on front diff.
I pick it up - same problem. They can't seem to get a handle on this, so here I am digging for answers.
Now I am wondering if the truck I love will end up being a 2wd truck I don't want.
    Any ideas?

My Goodness Your Truck is so old compared to what the Techs see most of the Time.

Plugging in the Computer does not tell them the Problem Completely lost.

Where in Pa are you ?? Check out our regional Forum .

Most likely something simple poor connection someplace they had things apart.

I would ask this if You showed in person just needed information

Your 4WD did work before this adventure started ??

Yes But it was not used since Last Winter.

No you never had reason to ever use it before .

I have heard both answers to often.
