I have a 2017 taillight you can have. I got it from a CL deal. They aren't perfect, but better than what you currently have. You'll have to come to me though. Live in Bothell, work in Woodinville.

PS. They have chrome reverse buckets, not black like yours.

This is a calculated strategy. It’s cheaper to replace customers than to take care of them.

GEICO spends almost 2b in advertising year. That’s $6 dollars for every $100 collected in premiums.
Cheaper than the cost to appropriately adjudicate a claim.

Looks to me like it’s time for a few new upgrades. You actually should be thanking the tree since you now have a clear cut excuse to buy new tail lights and new bumper:thumbsup:

So I replaced a side mirror and repainted a fender flair utilizing my insurance, actually made money on the deal. Didnt realize the hit to my trade in value would cost 10x what it would have if I had just done the repairs out of my pocket and kept it off the records. Something to think about.

I could be driving a long bed off road right now

I saw a video of a guy who fixed a dent in a bumper with boiling water. That’s all I have to offer. *water not included*

If you are saying that just replacing a side mirror and repairing a fender flare caused a significant hit to your trade in value then you are either utilizing the wrong dealer, need to sharpen your negotiating skills or both.

$500 - $1000 deductible vs. $300 - $400 in parts which are literally pieced together like a lego set. Not to mention the hit on re-sale and or trade. I'd do it myself OP

I’d fix the light and leave bumper as a reminder to watch where your backing. When my 2002 Tundra was about 2 months old I backed into a street sign, missed bumper, small dent and scrape right at back of bed, $800 estimate. I got some touch up paint to cover the scrape and let it be a daily reminder to pay attention.
