Tons and Fodees for the Shitbox

Alright, remember when I said I was gonna long travel and 2jz my truck? Yea that's not happenin. I came to the realization that tons and 4Ds are wayyy cheaper and are gonna be a ton of fun. Thinking dana 60 front and a 14 bolt rear, 5.38s and a cage. I'm headed out to the junkyard to start looking for all my shit soon. More to come.

 

Also, my whole suspension and front skid will be for sale if anyone is interested.

My truck doesn't have manual locking hubs mine is the ADD version.

No, Clampy is a truck the guy from Dirt Every Day built. And older pickup with a 2.7 swap, 40s and tons, spring under. He's got like 7.10 gears or something ridiculous

 

Thing is badass, I'm trying to keep more sheet metal, but that thing is rad.

I think they were able to get it up to 55 on a road trip episode they did.

 

SAS cheaper than LT? Or LT with the 2jz?

Why not go long travel with a 4x4 kit still? Just have high ambitions for some different style of off road?

SAS is cheaper than an LT for me, I work in a shop and my boss and I can do all the custom fab and welding, gonna bob the bed and stick it on leafs and go dog the shit out of it. Could be a long process but I am optimistic.

 

Also for rock crawling IFS just can't compete with SAS, also I hate all the weak points in the toyota IFS system and will be happy to be rid of them.
