I need to lubricate the ball every couple of months to stop them from making noise. is there a fix for this? I've used fluid film a few times and the noise goes away immediately.

Have you resolved this? Depending on age and mileage, the woven liner might be breaking down. What's the mileage and your location?

No. It is a constant problem. They may be 8 years old. The previous owner said it was normal for these and if you look at other threads It was Total Chaos that said it's normal and by design not sealed to allow for drying out. I am in Winston Salem NC.

That's just a uniball problem, not a total chaos problem. Uniballs are inherently noisy.

It's only noisy when it's dirty. Some are sealed and don't have this issue.

If they're 8 years old, you might need to replace the bushings and uniballs. That is quite some time

When I do I'll find some that don't require cleaning.

I have a 2017 Tacoma trd off-road with Total chaos uca and stock length lca paired with king mid travel coil overs and I keep running into the issue of my truck not wanting to return to center. When turning the truck it's smooth but I let go of the steering wheel and it doesn't wanna return to center. Have had it aligned plenty of times but it hasnt seemed to fix anything. Was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same issue or not. Never noticed it until I got the lower control arms put on.

You know what would be better than that gold paint? Doing what camburg does with their 1.25" upper arm bolt and misalignment spacer:

Sexy , 12 point (sunk in) bolt head. Plus the 1.25" uniball upper misalignment spacer is made specifically for a single shear bolt mount (like the Taco uses). Reusing the same lower misalight spacer on top isn't bad per say....it just "looks" like a home garage built part. Also regular hex bolt, that look like a trip down to home-depots bolt aslie.

I'm just saying TC would capture all the buyers who want the Trophy Truck "look" (or care about extra useless details). Little extra parts and machine time could go a long way.

yes, especially if you live in a place with "weather". Socal is generally nice and dry so running the biggest exposed uniballs is a must in the mall parking lot. This allows one to assert dominance over the overland builds.

Camburg makes nice parts and TC isn't on here to try and bash anyone's parts. At Total Chaos we have our way of doing things and we prefer to use the 1" uni-ball for a few reasons. 1) The misalignment that a 1" uni-ball gets does NOT limit the vehicles travel with a bolt in coil over. The shock is what limits the travel, not the uni-ball. 2) FK does not make the 1 1/4" uni-ball in a full stainless race and ball. The 1 1/4" is a COM series that in our opinion is of lesser quality than the 1" uni-ball that we provide our customers. 3) The recessed hardware is a nice look but since we use a 1" uni-ball, there isn't enough material around the misalignment spacer to recess a 9/16" bolt without compromising strength. to recess a 12 point bolt with a 1" uni-ball, the bolt would need to be 1/2" and in our opinion that isn't strong enough for this application. 4) At Total Chaos we like to make sure our parts work with stock wheel options and in some cases when a larger tire is on a stock wheel there is not very much clearance between the uni-ball cup and the tire, and if the cup was 1 1/4" there could be a rubbing issue.

The only reason I went with the cam-burglars upper arm is literally for this reason of a clean custom “look” . I don’t know why these little pesky details bother me. It’s the same reason someone would want a TIG welded component vs the same MIG part . mainly the clean “pro” look. It just seems more exclusive if that makes sense. Most garage fabers can reproduce these parts with a trip to off road warehouse , kartek or Ruff stuffs and browse their FK heim/ uniball parts selection. TC offers excellent products , I love how there are now heim pivot options for upper arms. I just think there would probably be a market for these race type parts. Uniball frame pivots , instead of poly bushings or custom spindle options with an option for upgraded race style hubs/snouts. I’d pay for this and others would too. Just a thought...

We understand what you mean. Having the ability to go to those stores and get replacement parts, should you need them, is a feature of what we are doing. We fully admit it's not the "Trophy Truck" look but our race pedigree has been proven as well and it's something we pride ourselves on and stand behind. Camburg and Total Chaos are both successful companies and if the end result is the customer having options to choose what they want in a suspension system then we are glad you guys (the consumers) have that ability.
