I’d love to see some pictures of a bike a short bed with the tailgate closed. Neither my 19’ 450f or my yz250 fit with it up5CEBBDB7-8467-459A-9A5A-AA2048F39960.jpg

Do you have any pictures of how you made that work? This is about as close as I could get (still probably 4" past the where the tail gate would have been). Edit: the front wheel is also at full lock and stuffed as tight as I could get it in the far corner.

Works fine with kids' bikes though:

Planning to haul my DRZ down to Florida at the end of March and was curious to how it would fit.

Do you guys ever fear rock chips flying up from the rear wheels and chipping the rear gate while transporting with it down? I want to do a few longer trips (2 hours drives) with my bike in the back (MT09) but I'd need to rear gate down for this. Roads are kinda shit here with gravel for the winter.

That rack looks pretty sweet. What is the info on it?

I just did a few trips with the HF carrier and it worked much better than I expected:
    IMG_20200214_170136.jpg

Other carriers that were close, but more expensive, were not as nice as the HF one, IMHO, but yours looks very different from the ones that I have seen.

Nope, check this out. Highly modded XR650L, Thumper carb, FMF pipe, desmogged, Renthal sprockets, Gold o-ring chain, Maxis Desert tires, hauled it through 7 different states and wheeled the hell out of it. Grab a handful of throttle and the ground just explodes underneath the rear tire. Took it to Moab and ran a bunch of the trails with it. Hell of a ride.

Thanks! That is really cool.

How is the stability? It took me about three tries to get the strapping how it wanted it with my carrier for a sub-300lb DR.

    Solid.
It comes with a hitch stabilizer and the safety pin can be tightened so there is no play at all.

That one hell of a design.

I was really impressed how well the stabilizer setup worked on the HF carrier. Item Number 17 get rotated and they clamp both sides of the receiver with some gorilla torque on that bolt. I had low expectations and almost ordered the U bolt stabilizer from Amazon.

Got my older DR350 heavy ass bike in there no problem. Bike weights about 350lbs. Not sure how I’d do it with a second one but sure I could make it worth. I recommend air bags if carrying a couple of these heavy boys tho.

I bought a front bar that has slots for the tires and a couple of extra tie down loops on it. It mounted directly to the bed and seems pretty secure.

I also have a setup so I can tow with my tailgate down safely and have tested it with much success.
