Grown men auguring over whose oil filter is the best make zero sense to me when there's not a pinch of puppy sh_t difference in the longevity of your Tacoma's engine regardless of which major brand oil filter you use.

this is looking like it might die down.... lets talk about oil. I like to use the cheapest 5/30 I can get. currently Sams club semi-synthetic no name oil sold by the case at $1.79 a quart!

I hear stuff like this all the time and have yet to see any actual proof. And no Utube does not count. I spent many years in the fix it business and the only filter I have ever seen blow up was an AC Delco from an overpressure oil pump and that was over 50 years ago. By the way semi synthetic oil is just that the US is the only country that allows blends to be called synthetic.

    1) because there's no real evidence they are shit

    2) because it's worked well enough for me for over 100k miles,

    3) I like the rubber gripy thing that makes it easier to change the filter.

    4) no one is telling you to change

    lol

I typically use penzoil, but I've got a few half empty bottles of castrol, and some other brands too.

    All 5w30 tho.
