    Hi,

I have a 2013 Tacoma long bed (6'). Looking for a folding cover for it and don't know a lot about them. Do they hook in to the existing rails on the side or do they require permanent installation steps? Suggestions on hard vs soft?

    Thanks!

Look on sites like Autoanything and a lot depends on how much you want to spend.
BakFlip is a hard that fits down inside the rails but blocks the stock slide rails and it can be folded up against the cab so use entire bed.
ExTang fits/sits ontop of the rails another hard. Many styles and hard can be locked while soft is easy to cut/break into but cheaper.

I've got a Tonno Pro tri-fold soft cover on my truck and really like it. The mounting clamps attach to the rails and are super-easy to install. I had an issue with the side stitching starting to fail after a couple years and with relatively little hassle the company replaced it under warranty.

I have a soft one that mounts to the rails.

Which reminds me. I need to take some pix and sell it. I prefer an open bed

I picked up a tyger trifold(commonly sold on Amazon) used on Facebook for 50 bucks. It uses the factory utility rails.

Damn, Bakflips looks like good quality but are also pricey.
