I have an 01 Tacoma. I have a disconnected cable and have no idea what it goes to. Im having problems with the heater and air conditioning and I think this might be part of the problem. Anybody know what it connects to? It’s on the passenger side

Grandmas old truck. Pretty much all original except maybe ball joints. It’s connected to I think the blend door actuator

I think You're right about actuator.
While you're in there cleaning granny gunk and skin dust out of those nasty ducts you may find where it plugs in.
    Buy a flashlight.
Your Tacoma does not have a cabin air filter.

Is it possible it's was never used for anything? Unused option like 4WD ECU...? Not sure what spec your truck is but if 4x2, the 4WD ECU would have been in that area.

    here’s a picture.

the a/c and heater work. A/c isn’t that cold but it might just need a recharge. Problem is, I can’t change the temperature from the control knob. If I move the lever on the blend door the temperature changes.

From the looks of the first pic, your missing the rigid cable that connects there in the top of the photo. It looks like the one that controls the inside/outside air selector.

The closest I can find is that the part number is similar to a Mercedes Benz part number. What I'm guessing is that a previous owner had an issue with heat/AC electrical and attempted to fix it using what was laying around.
