I knew a SSgt Major, and had met a Seaman Poole.

If your last name is Poole...go Army. Sheesh, that’s begging for trouble.

The best was a Major Wreche (pronounced “wreck”) and he was. Vietnam-era F-4 pilot who started drinking in 1971 and didn’t stop.

Sergeant Sergeant... knew a couple of those. Better in the army because e5-e7 are still called sergeant. If I was a marine I might not let them promote past e5.

dad had a friend who was an F4 pilot in Viet Nam, hit once and ejected. he never saw his WSO again, it messed him up pretty hard
after a while he just started dropping bombs in empty rice paddies

the folks that made his ejection seat sent him a tie, he wears it every memorial day.
sort of an adopted uncle, he lived in our garage for almost a year. spent a lot of evenings out there listening to old reel-to-reel recordings of radio chatter and music

I forget when it happened but it was sometime between 2001 and 2020. These are thing we don’t really focus on. Tell us to scrape it off, we do and go about our business.

Whichever clinic or hospital you choose within your range is fine. The VA likes closest because it means less per diem (mileage) claimed.

Vegas might actually be the larger facility, too, which means more options.
