    Hi All,

I'm in the SJ area and I'm looking to rent or borrow the tool to do the ECGS 8" Clamshell Bushing. Thanks in advance!

    Thx,
    Fernie

I usually only work on my own cars because I usually don't have time. However, I've been my family's mechanic for years and I'm YouTube certified. :D I'm not a professional technician, I turn wrenches as a hobby.

That being said, once I install my lift kit (which as been sitting in boxes since Oct/Nov) and the ECGS bushing, I'll help you out. I figure by then I will be more familiar with how to do it.

BTW, I've been searching and I think I can remove it with either of the following:

    Pilot bearing puller

    Inner bearing puller

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Oh yes... I think we've done 6 (or so) ECGS bushings at various mod days. On the tube... are we talking about something else here?

My daughter is getting married on the 16th... so scheduling a mod day before then would (quite literally) get me killed.

But as soon as the wedding is done I've been planning to put together another mod day.

I got one you can borrow. Just leave me the cost of a new one as a refundable deposit.

If you do end up getting the ECGS Tool, just remember, it's not always the right size. If you have problems getting it into the hole, you'll need to grind off some at the edges.
