I’ve gotten tired of watching my 3 year old try to climb up in to my truck, so i decided to give her a leg up with a set of steps. I don’t like the look of most tube steps and the running boards I originally wanted wouldn’t ship to Alaska. These looked ok from another post I’ve seen here, and for $159 with Prime shipping to Alaska I decided to give them a shot.

The steps arrives a few days after ordering, and came in a nice sturdy box. All of the parts and pieces were well packed and more importantly the bags for the support brackets and the steps themselves were packed in color coded bags to aid in figuring out what went were. :) Nice little touch!

The brackets were also stamped with where they are supposed to go, even better.

Installation was super easy and straight-forward. The instructions could use a few more photos but it really is an easy install. It took me maybe 45 minutes to install both steps. You'll need a 13mm socket and some extensions, and I found safety glasses to be very helpful to keep dirt out of my eyes while laying under the truck installing the brackets.

Attach the plastic covers to the brackets.

Bolt the brackets to the truck using the 3 stock mounting points.

Bolt the step to the brackets.

Go back and make sure everything is tight.

    Repeat on the other side.

Seriously easy, it's maybe a 1 beer job. The steps are extremely solid and feel very stable underfoot when climbing in and up.

What I like best about them is how close they sit to the truck. They hang low enough to be a good step but not so low that I think they'll get in the way. I also think the square profile matches the shape of the 3rd gen trucks better than the tube type steps.

    Nice review!
Im looking at these as well. What’s the finish like? I’ve read Matt black but then gloss black.

Just curious why you didn’t go with the 5”? How have these held up for you?

I didn’t want a huge old man step hanging low off the truck. From what I’ve seen the 4” sits closer to the cab.

They've been great so far. Still rock solid and the paint and finish is still good. Kids like having the step to get in and out of the truck, I like having the step for cleaning the windshield and roof, etc.
