Never heard of any of these "professional youtubers". But then again, I don't spend my time watching youtube videos. Why should I care what random people on the internet think, much less waste time watching a video of them spouting their opinions in an effort to get attention.

I figure, if you want me to care about your opinion, you first need to provide your credentials to prove you're knowledgeable on the subject.

if i bought the Taco and took it off the lot like that i would complain too. the truck needs to be modded to be good. the complaints are valid.

BUT, nobody here gives a shit about a stock truck, because they need to be modded to be good. so why waste the time and make a dumbass video complaining about the stock truck nobody here wants. and MTs are not for losers like that guy anyway. MT guys take problems into their own hands and fix them. but this guy is just whining.

I partly agree. The biggest thing i noticed was spongy/inconsistent clutch and unresponsive gas pedal. It took me few days to learn how to drive this tranny smoothly, but none of this clunking shit this dude is talking about. ADM made a difference for sure.

I kind of learned how to live with the throttle response, it could be better for sure though.

the throttle thing took about 2.5 yrs to get a fix. started with a Pedal Commander, then OVT alphas and 1.05s. it was finally what i wanted with the 2.0 beta catless dump tube file.

:D Thanks! I just might have to one day. This OV tune is so tempting man! Ill definetily keep it in mind.

I drove one of the local TW members' MT taco recently and he drove mine. That guy who was complaining that his 2019 sport shakes at lower rpms.

Was interesting experience, gotta say i felt those slight vibrations/shaking and my truck drove better/smoother and felt a bit quicker after i drove his. I have e rated tires, he has got stock toyos.

Even he noticed difference right away. Funny, how same truck can drive so different, his is newer too but same mileage.

"This is my second truck ever. I'm not sure the payload capacity, is that how much is costs to fill the tank? Why isn't it shifting like a classic power wagon? Why does the auto get better mpg. I'm upset it won't pull my cigarette boat. I know how to drive a standard I'm coming from an impreza. "

So happy the latest trend was for half of these new truck people to jump ship over to 4runners.

Sonomas, S-10, F-150s, older Tacomas, drive more than a month in any of them in standards. The taco is light years ahead of them. The vast majority of folks just refuse to adjust how they drive to match the truck. They magically expect the truck to adjust to them. The accumulator is a preference thing and I understand why someone might want to go that route. And the reverse gear being tall is also very valid.

"there's no power" from the guy who thinks putting the rpm past 3700 is bad is a joke.

Just admit it, you can't hang. Go back to Autos.

That was eye opening to me also. It just doesn't make sense as a Toyota product.

I watched Rob's video my first car was a new 1983 sr5 toyota 4x4 short bed White on top blue on the bottom (i'd kill for that again). It was manual and I wouldn't drive anything but a manual. Rob is right it is an old transmission feels like the same as 1983. I drive my 2020 Tacoma ORD in Phoenix third only to Honolulu, and LA as far as traffic, used to live in downtown Boston as well. No problems and I lived in Honolulu for 10 years no big deal. Try driving a 1981 z28 with a manual in Boston, then I'll have an issue you'll need a leg press.

BTW Rob didn't exactly look like he was straining too much when he was rowing thru the gears and talking.

Now as far as resale. All I know is whenever I sell a manual car of any kind I am in the in the drivers seat pun intended. Example I had a 2014 BMW Valencia Orange s35i Z4, 13k miles. Sold it last year I had people beating down the door. Why? last year of manual with the 6. I wouldn't budge on price. There wasn't another in the state. A millennial girl actually bought it which was pretty cool to know we still have hope. Thing is people that like manuals are purists of sorts they buy with their heart and feelings. My wife has the new 2020 Corolla SE as a commuter, manual of course and it actually cost about a grand more than the automatic.

I want manual windows. These power windows just don't do justice. You lose all control with this auto up and auto down feature. Why would I want it to go all the way up without spinning a lever 200 times? While they are at it, get rid of air conditioning. We were just fine with vent windows. I mean you could open those bad boys and angle it so you had a breeze that felt like the middle of a hurricane in your face. I don't need these digital radios. We were just fine with the old dial. I could fine tune in my favorite station and when I wanted to hear Kasey Kasum's top 40 count down I could spin the dial. Now days you just hit a preset. What is that all about? I don't need power seats either. Matter of fact, just take the seat out and give me a bucket. I don't know that these car manufacturers are thinking these days.

I laughed when he mentioned R&D on the manual transmission. Aren’t all auto transmissions - paddle shifters, dual clutches, CVTs, etc., the result of R&D on the manual transmission?
