I’ve got a feeler for my coilovers. They have between 20-25k miles on them. They are for a 4-5 inch lift. I bought them for my 3rd gen and the spring rate is not right, so my truck is chewing through tires. They are originally for a 2nd gen, so it was my screw up. Nothing wrong with the shocks. They are part number 883-02-044. Asking $1,000

Why is it chewing through tires? Bad alignment specs?

You have to have the parts off the truck to sell them, the mods will delete your thread.

Ok mods please delete, they are not off the truck yet.

Yeah the shop said that the spring rate is not right for a 3rd gen and I need a different part number for my setup

You can buy different springs for them. Take it to a different shop that actually knows something. Plus with the amount of preload they have and you saying they are from that high of a lift is odd.

The coilovers you have are for a drop bracket lift. Your suspension is fucked if you don't have one. It's too long for a stock truck.

Well there's your problem not the spring rate just that they are too long plus that preload on the spring wow.

Unless you have a Drop bracket lift then they are fine you can take some pre-load out of the spring or order some different springs. Both of those aren't hard

Yeah those shocks come with 600# springs, you should step up to 650# (or 700# if you are armor heavy). They can be purchased pretty cheap from summit racing and other suppliers.

Its very easy to remove these and take them to a local shop with a spring compressor, and you will save money by having them removed already. (#1) Lift tires off the ground, (#2) remove wheels, (#3) remove 2 LCA bolts connecting to wheel hub, (#4) push LCA out of the way and remove 3 bolts on top of shock (#5) slide shock out of mount.
