The truck is due for a smog check.

I bet it's going to fail. I have to put a lot of stock stuff back, and take the meth injection out.

What else do you have to put to stock? You have the CARB sticker for the supercharger right? The meth kit I understand...although you never know they might not notice it if you make it less obvious somehow. They never notice the 7th injector on mine

I made the CARB sticker in Photoshop haha. It's pretty obvious because the nozzle is sticking out of the intake tube, and the reservoir says "METHANOL INJECTION" on it along with the pump.

I plugged the stupid intake resonator hole with a PVC plug.

Well if you cover up the methanol injection label you never know they might not catch it if they don't really know what they're looking at. I doubt they get many boosted vehicles let alone boosted Tacomas coming through.

The nozzle sticks out like a sore thumb. Trust me.

If I take the label off the res, it says Washer Fluid haha. It's a 5-Lug washer reservoir I modified to take the meth injection piping.

It's not in this pic, but the nozzle sticks horizontally out the back of the tube.

5100s are a weird beast. They're digressive valves so they can be kinda stiff to begin with but on top of that Bilstein recommends a 255/70 valve stack and that's just too much on a light truck. If you could get the front Billies with 180/55 shims like they offer (it's hidden but you can get em) for the rear then people would probably like them a lot more. Especially since folks begins most often by shoving them on a nearly stock truck with overkill springs.

Should've welded it in below the idle air tube

Yeah but I mean someone that doesn't know meth injection (ie the smog tech hopefully) won't catch it as long as there isn't a label there stating what it is.

Its a tough call though, cause if they do catch it and fail you then you get flagged in the system for it and they'll be more keen on looking it over closely when you come back in. Also if you fail the first the time you can forget about finding a dirty shop to pass you with cash cause you'll be a huge liability with a fail on record.

Oh well. I can just install an NPT bung on it.

AEM really likes to brand everything, the nozzle has the whole description of what it is right on it front and center.

NGL, it's half hooked up. I finished 50% hooking it up and I never touched it again. I'm just going to install a bung on the tube. Paint it silver.

I hope they don't care about the boost sensor on the supercharger. Technically, I did modify a stock engine system.

@Speedytech7 You think those pink 01-04 injectors are going to give me trouble, or should I put the stock '98 brown ones back in?

I dunno, you going for your yearly SS inspection? I'd put the stockers in for a guaranteed pass

Really shouldn't matter on a warmed up truck

Bi-annually. Every two years. They just care if it passes emissions, we don’t do safety inspections. They plug it into the OBD, do a visual, and run the sniffer

I'd bet you'd pass with the pinks as long as the truck was 100% warmed up. Just really needs to be in closed loop

It's be really surprised if they catch the boost sensor lol. The place I go to, the guy was really excited to see the supercharger on my truck and was happy the stickers were in place. He did run the CARB cert # on the stickers through the system for both the blower and my headers. Nearly failed for the headers because the # correlated to an 03 Tacoma and not an 04 according to him, which makes no sense to me but he said not to worry about it.

I go back to him now when I need smogged and he just plugs in the OBDII reader to check for codes, pops the hood and looks and I'm on my way in 10 minutes
