Thats what I ended up doing. Once you get it all covered you can just touch it up with a can every once and a while but that worked best for me. When I sold my truck 6 years later the frame was still mint

A less expensive option to fluid film is Honey Goo. Easily found at canadian tire and auto stores
Works just as good as fluid film, minus the smell ;)
I only use this stuff now

But it can only be found as spray cans, not the 5 gallons like Fluid Film

Just get KROWN and forget about all the others. I've had all my rides drilled, no rust, no issue.

Im Looking at Sublime surfacing from Edmonton, they have a "honeyseal" process that has really great reviews, only catch is im in Ontario, I asked if they had a tech here in Ontario that can apply, but no luck yet, so I guess I'll either have a good excuse for a cross country trip, or will just do the Rust Check Corrosion free 3,000 again, i did the Rust check last fall, it held up good through the central ontario salt, except for the rear diff plug, i vividly recall spraying it, but right now it looks worse then my 89's... other than that all good,

Been checking sublime out as well. The photos they post look amazing, and claims it’s good for around 10 years. Seems reasonably priced too.

What is the process for prepping for undercoating? Are you supposed to clean under the truck first? Do they do it? Does. It need to be done? Looking into corrosion free

    AC drain mod,
When I am using a water displacing oil type undercoat like corrosion free, i like to high pressure wash the underside, making sure all the hard to get to spots are clean on a hot sunny day in the morning. By the afternoon most the truck is dried out, so ill apply the oil in late afternoon,
If your taking it into a shop to have it done, I'd call them to see, but most likely I'd still clean it myself before taking it in,

I am a believer in Krown, I have been using it for about 25 years now, I had a 1997 Honda accord that I bought in 2000, and used to krown it every other year, I sold it about four years ago, the guy I sold it to could not believe there was not a spot of rust on it, usually Honda‘s that old have rust on the fenders and around the gas fill, I just bought a 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD and I will krown it every year just to be safe. They will also just crown the frame undercarriage for $100 A year. Cheers:)

What shop? Looking to get mine done. Does he do prep work or just spray over top? I have lots of surface rust that needs to be sanded. Cheers.

How are you guys finding washing your vehicles once applied? I usually like to spray the truck down every 2 to 3 weeks in winter when things warm up enough here in Alberta, do the coatings hold up to say a dozen washes over winter?

If you ever decide to offer the service, I'll bring 2 vehicles to you.

You want to apply when the weather is still nice and warm and give it time to cure, I rinse our daily drivers once a week during winter and they are holding up fine.

Also did the cosmoline on my 2020. Best thing you can do. Used a spray gun and their 1 gallon kit. Want through this winter and its still on even after power washing. That stuff is tough and in my opinion superior to anything else on weather exposed surfaces. For all the doors and other spots which are fully covered I use wool wax.

Tremclad Flat Black rust spray paint. Oil Based dries nice, tough finish and the best part......once you have applied it is an annual inspection with little touch ups as needed.

Done this method with my FJ for the last 15 years and it still looks great.

Had a friend in the States recommend the same thing but I don’t think he had 15 years experience doing it. Think it’s time to give it a crack.

Just thought I'd provide my feedback on Sublime Surfacing.
Initial call to gather some information on the service, process, etc. was answered by Ted with genuine care and time. It actually surprised me how much time he carved out for me considering I was basically a random inquiry call and not yet a client. After he answered all my questions and concerns, I booked in with him relatively quick.

As my Taco was pretty much brand new when I took it to him, he was working with a blank slate and did not need to blast away any of the road built-up grime/rust you'd accumulate over the years.
Honeyseal service took 1 day turnaround as he recommended that the truck sit in their lot after the service to set.

It's only been a year so I can't really say what rust, if any, would have started had I not gotten this done but time will tell.

Sublime seems to have a good name. I was talking to a tech at Krave in Calgary and they recommended them. A message left on their website was answered the same day. Ted replied that their Honey Seal product is similar to Cosmoline. Quoted $599.00 for a new ORSB. That will probably be my second stop after having a lift installed by Krave.
