Post your BLACK 3rd Gens

Especially with the soft/thin paint nowdays, it doesnt help. You look at the black taco wrong, and it scratches.

Paint on my 2007 ranger was very forgiving for a black paint. So was the civic and camaro i had a while ago, all black.

 

My 1988 was black. Hard to keep em clean. Wait until pollen season.

31 years later (a red one and a silver one in between) I got me another black one. I guess it’s true what they say ... once you go black ... you always come back!

They are Beautiful when they are clean!

 

I had an 82 Toyota truck and it was black. Now full circle I am back in a black 2020.

 

Nice! About the same here, went from 1989 SR5 Xtra Cab to 2017 DCLB. Both also black.

 

Can anyone here tell me where to buy some reasonable priced D-ring shackle mounts for the front? I dont need $90 brackets for something that is just for looks. I want to put red d rings on the front. I see a bunch 90 and up but thats crazy.

Couldn’t say, likely rated more than the OE point found on the same position. @djmr1972 mentioned he is going for the look factor. Not sure on the rating, but imagine it would be suitable in a pinch. Shoot Eddy at SoS an email, maybe he can give you a run down on the engineering and details regarding the design and features.

 

There was a thread on demon brackets, pretty cheap if you just want them for looks. I would not use for recovery. If you want the recovery option as well, the SOS one is priced pretty well if it’s rated for recovery.

00016-35071. The vinyl inlays I got from a vendor on the forum- TVDvinyl. I used the vinyl on all of the chrome accents, minus the V6 i tossed. Matched well with the look of the Fuels..

 

Took the new taco off road for the first time today, I think I might have hit a mud puddle...

Where’d you get the vinyl for the wheels?? I’m assuming it’s vinyl correct? How does it hold up?

 

She cleans up really nice. It takes about 3-4 hours to really detail my truck. Oh well. It's worth it to me.

It’s actually plastidip took me some time to tape it off and do it right. I holds up till the tired needed to be changed which took about 3 years
