That's a good summary for future people searching. Sometimes hard to keep track of what year things changed on these things. In my case, I'm just straight up missing my LR sensor.

Digging this thread up from the dead, got my TPMS sensors fixed. Since the dealer was a good distance aways, I asked if I could bring it in this last monday. I didn't want to drive there JUST for the sensors, sit around all day, then drive home. I was taking a vacation for a week, and the dealer is about 20 min from the airport, so I asked if I could just leave the truck with them, pick it up when I get back.

Actually, the story gets longer and more complicated on my end, but ultimately, I had to had to have someone else drive it up and drop it off for me, then I would be able to pick it up once I landed. I ended up getting a call while out of the country from the dealer. We went on about how all the sensors needed to be replaced, because they only last 5 years or so, and all 4 had dead batteries. I was quoted $700 to replace all 4. Needless to say I unloaded on the guy, called him out and asked how CLEARLY 1 sensor is missing, so I find it really strange it has a dead battery.... when it literally can't have one... He was actually very polite back to me, as I was being a massive asshole, I cut him off and yelled something about (insert managers name here) is fully aware of the situation, I was told everything would be taken care of, and I'm not paying a fucking cent.

"Uhhhh who?" he asked. I half yell the managers name, explain I have been in contact with him via email all about this.... "There's.... no one by that name here?" He responds. Tells me this is (insert dealer name here) Hyundai, I am the service manager... Fucking faceplam.... I thoroughly apologized.... My truck was supposed to go to the Lincoln dealer... Apparently both are so close (Both the same parent company) to being side by side they almost look like the same dealer. The person dropping off my truck, did a night drop, and left it at the wrong one.... whoopsies.

Anyways, he was super cool, I apologized my ass off, offered to do anything I could to get the truck where it should go, but also explain I was out of the country... so I can't do a whole hell of a lot. But again, luckily, they basically share a lot so it was no problem taking it over to the "right dealer".

After I hung up, I was getting real interested what the other guys would say. If they too thought all 4 (3) needed to be replaced. Since I wasn't paying anything, I half prepped for at least a heated conversation asking why dealer #1 said I needed all new ones, and they did not (this had not happened yet, but, just half expecting to have this debate with someone).

Lucky enough, bam, 4 all-new sensors. $0 to me. I did get a slight chuckle when signing the $0 receipt and looking at the paperwork for the service done. There was a 2nd slip of paper which I did not get a copy of, but I glanced and saw some "recommended" work, most notably wiper blades.... which I just put a fresh set of silicon blades on maybe a week previous. Along with a tire rotation (who knows, maybe you have to rotate you tries every 1500 miles now?.... haha), an alignment... and I don't even recall the rest. The service manager didn't even bother to bring that up to me. 95% of the time when I hear the "we recommend" statement start, I remind them I am ASE. Kinda stops that right in their tracks.

Anyways, if anyone else comes across this in the future. I think this thread has some good info, and yup, got all mine done for $0. With a funny side story.

Edit to clarify: Just after reading, these weren't 2 totally different dealers. Both are owned by the same company, both have the same company logo, both are very close to each other. If you're not from the area (as we are not) it looks like 1 giant dealer almost. Just one side is Lincoln, and one side is Hyundai, both have a "Service Center", really easy to pull into one, and go to the "Service Center" of the other. Lincoln, Hyundai, and I'm bringing in a Totota, yeah I can see how it can get confusing quick, especially at night.

Edited for a little more clarity upon re-reading. The guy at the service center was real jealous of my truck though (He seemed to be genuine, not just brown-nosing), said when it rolled in he took pics of it to send to his wife because it's the exact truck he had been looking for. Not sure how he never saw it was on his own lot? lol. I guess it wasn't there very long, and yeah, this is a HUGE dealer, guess it would be easy to miss a vehicle or two. I guess he's been on the hunt for a clean gen2 2.7 for a while. My father was the one who took it up, he even said as I talked to him earlier today, "I had no idea that truck had 100k on it, looking at it, I figured it maybe has like 15k or so" I said yeah, and it's a 2011... it's hardly even "new", damn near 10 years old already.
