    Not sure what you’re looking for but the Landcruiser 79 series is the beefier version of a Toyota pickup you’d want. The hilux isn’t much different than a Tacoma other than engine options. In fact I feel it’s cheaper in quality when driving the current models.

    Clearly the test for towing capability is how many inches (rather lack of), is between the hitch and the road, and if the last 2 gears are usable. RIP 2003 explorer (died of unnatural causes from being upsidedown (also not an Australia joke))

    Just looking for an explanation for the huge difference in payload capacity between Tacoma and Hilux since, like you said, they're not too different.

    How do they calculate it for the 5th wheel / Gooseneck guys?
    By the amount of camber in the rear wheels? :confused:
