Ugh. The joys of dog ownership. Time to invest in a dual action orbital, pads, and compounds.

Wash, clay bar and wax it up, should take out some of the scratches. There's some pros on here that can give some even better advice.

Someone makes a wax for black rigs that’s supposed to hide that stuff ? Worth a try!

Had a similar incident. Years ago I had a Nissan 300zx and my Dad was playing with our lab and threw his toy where he thought was behind my car but it actually landed on the rear deck, The dog tried to get at it by climbing up on the rear bumper and deck, and scratched the heck out of my car. Its was worst than what the OP is showing. Fortunately the clear coat was pretty thick and I was able to buff it out (my car was also black).

I taught my girl Sadie not to do that a long time ago . A scratch can be thousands of dollars on these new vehicles . Anyway good luck to you .

Ouch! That’s rough. My wife’s 4Runner had some scratches and dings and I used a dual action polisher and some Chemical Guys polishes (V32-V38) and it definitely helped. It won’t completely get rid of the deeper scratches, but it can make it a little less noticeable.

I'd recommend DoDo Juice waxes, the stuff is amazing. Not sure it'll hide these tho. :-/

The pic I think is magnifying the scratches because of the sun angle also, you see some horizontal stuff underneath too unrelated

Had a black Mustang for years that we took to shows on the weekends. Never had it in a garage. It’s a labor of love. I have tried nearly everything on Autogeek and it’s mostly just about elbow grease. Constant two bucket washes and paint correction with lake city pads and meguiars M105/205 kept the swirls at bay. Prior to applying your wax/sealant give this stuff a shot: Does a great job hiding imperfections on black paint that you can’t get out with your buffer.

Looks as you were due for paint correction. Poor dog just added to the reason to get it done now.

GL Black is great clean and horrible any other time.

Might want to consider taking your truck to a good pro detailer. Depends on how deep the scratches really are.
