Best UCA’s

I’m going to be putting my 3inch lift on my Tacoma in the next 2-3 weeks and am going to put new UCA’s on. What are the best brands out there that provide great performance without costing “too” much?

 

Don’t fall into the hype of buying the best. Buy a tig welder, a cnc machine and design your own.

 

JBA. They’re about $450 and a lot of people on here run them.

Are new lower control arms ever necessary for lifts or no?

I like my dirt kings, company has great customer service ... First you have to decide if you want ball joint or uniball though

None provide "great" performance, they'll just make alignment easier for your alignment people.

There no such "best" brands, they are all made similar.

From a pure performance standpoint uniballs are going to be better in that there's no binding possible within the window of our IFS. But for mid travel use just to help correct alignment and add clearance for 3" coils ball joints can still be used with the benefit of less maintenance. Uniballs can get squeaky and if you live in place with winters the road salt can cause them to wear and pit faster. I went with Camburg OEM ball joint type. JBA uses GM 1 ton ball joints so those are kind of an upgrade, SPC has their own proprietary ball joints and Icon Delta joints are specialty ball joints.

 

The "best" would honestly be relative to a couple factors to the intended use, along with your budget. We offer Icon and SPC uca's.

If an individual wishes to truly a higher end uca, such as a billet offering with adjustable heims to truly dial in their alignment, we also carry Icon 58550DJ

We also do strongly recommend Icon's tubular UCA, 58450DJ.

Both Icon offerings offer their delta joint, combining the durability of a ball joint with the performance characteristics of a uniball that is offered in other ucas.

 

It depends your application... Uniballs are great for high performance but with that performance comes added cost and maintenance... Check out filthy motor sports on youtube his video breaks it down so that even i could understand it lol

Sorry for being so dumb lol. Wasn’t trying to exceed 7-800 really. And didn’t know how to word the post that’s why I said performance. I knew they helped out with alignment issues

 

7-800 for ucas? Or entire lift?

What suspension are you going with?

 

Personally I ran "built right" UCAs for years without a single issue and paid back then close to $300 less than the trendy TC, Icon and Camburg. Nowadays "baja kits" and "dirt king" exist. Once again, it depends on how much you want to spend. If you want "off road performance" go with lowers and uppers from the same manufacturer.

 

I’m just going with a simple Bilstein lift. Nothing impressive whatsoever but gives it that lifted look. 5100’s in the front and rear. My buddy has it and I liked it! I wanted to go with Icon or King but not wanting to spend all that as of now. Maybe in a couple years once it’s payed off I’ll go big

 

I don’t do HEAVY off roading so not necessarily looking for “total off road performance” just some minor dirt trails and dirt roads that take me out to where I hunt or fish
