Swapping in new bed bolts. Old ones were pretty rusty. Had to take a couple out, 1/4 turn at a time. Took almost 15 minutes for just one bolt lol. Blew out the holes w/ compressed air before reinstalling new ones w/ plenty of anti-seize and some marine grease up top.

Installed Font Runner tracks in my Leer. I almost went with Rhino Rack for the self install but these were just a couple bucks more and looked beefy. I’m glad I did these things are solid. Would def recommend to anyone. I got quoted $300 for Thule tracks installed by the local Leer dealer, these were about $120, and install was a breeze and having seen Thule and Rhino rack tracks I feel these are superior strength Tracks. Front Runner sells heavy duty track nuts and bolts in a 12 pack also but you have to ask for them as there are currently listed on their site.

Went for a little 100km drive during a snowstorm in Montréal. It took 5h to do back n forth. Highways were single lane going about 50km/h. IMG_20200227_120906.jpg

I went with the 9” DMH-C5500nex because of the flush clean install look it has. I didn’t go with a dvd receiver cuz disks are out dated and this will play movies/tv shows with a usb. It also has youtube built in.

Is any relay? Since that would defeat the purpose of needing one in the first place. I don’t foresee it being an issue. It has power pumping through it for hours on end on long drives, plus it’s not like there’s a constant draw on it.

I was reading up on this HU and it says it does not support Bluetooth. Is that accurate? I would hate to give up some current functionality.

In regards to both center console & Rear (USB 5volt, 2.4Amp output) , I'll be tapping the connection after K4 Pin so it will power off when vehicle is turned off. Using the following:
LIXIN 14AWG SAE DC Power Automotive Connector and
Mroinge 5V 4.8A Motorcycle USB Charger SAE to USB Adapter

    Screenshot 2020-03-01 at 5.42.11 PM.jpg

    Kenwood Excelon DDX9906XR
This head unit has the capability of HDMI INPUT/OUTPUT. You just have to convert to/from Composite Video and HDMI. I am going to use the following to achieve this goal

    HDMI => Composite: Input
Kenwood CA-C3AV AV Cable for Video AV Input &
GANA HDMI to RCA & Battery Tender USB Charger Adaptor: (Power GANA)
    or
iSimple ISHD01 MediaLinx HDMI To Composite Video/Audio Adapter Cable

Composite => HDMI: Output: This will allow me to play a DVD for the kids in the back and listen w/ headphones and I can still listen to my music up front. I might install a headrest monitor at a later date.
    6in Stereo Audio Y-Cable
    RCA to HDMI, GANA
Battery Tender USB Charger Adaptor: (Power GANA)

Did new rotors and pads today. Sprayed some fluid film around to keep it ripe. New Calipers soon for sure more rusty than thought shoulda blasted them with some paint. Recent photo of the unit.

It has Bluetooth just not wireless CarPlay or android auto. Personally I went with this one for the buttonless look

Edit: also it’s an 8” screen I said 9” previously.

Gee, I don't think anyone here would have any ideas on what to mod next. Wait, what........?:spending:

You were lucky to get any of them out. I had to have my mechanic use electric induction to get one of them out! Two of the heads were stripped by the time we were done. ( I say we, the mechanic got half of them, I got the others.) I bought a used set from a member on here. Not going to pay around $20 per bolt from the dealer!
