Bilstein 6112 & 5160 lift

So after 2 years of waiting and wife approval. Pulling the trigger on the lift.
Doing the 6112 & 5160 set-up. Need some simple advise.

Fronts:
6112 Bilstein
Do I need UCA's? Not doing bumper. In the future a 275 / 70 /17 (not E load)

Rears:
5160 Bilstein
AAL: Not doing bumper. Not sure if i need it, But if i need it what are some options? would like to keep the ride smooth.

ARB FK29 Old Man Emu Rear Driveshaft Spacer Kit from Amazon


Trying to keep it Simple & Clean but specially cheat.

I just did a similar "lift" I did half in in the front, I think 3/2. And then the 5160's out back. Rides great.

 

5160’s don’t lift the rear. Aal is the only way.

 

Aal 3 leaf or single. New leaf pack. Or blocks.

single leaf I believe gets you a lift but doesn’t add any load capacity

 

I just did the same on my 19 OR no UCAs set 4/3 (1in) in the front and no lift in the back. 265/70/17 and I love it

 

How high are you lifting? If you go over 2” every one says get UCA’s

 

Was thinking on a 2" on the front and thinking 1" for a complete level. I know for a 1" i have to do AAL

 

No rub? any trans vibrations? Drive shaft spacer kit needed?

 

You may want to consider installing the ECGS bushing as a preventative measure

 

Do these aftermarket kits smooth out the freeway bumps. I feel everything in my off-road in some lanes compared to my wife’s highlander. It’s my daily driver and I want the versatility to be comfortable on my commute to work and off road on weekends.

 

Same exact boat. Don’t think we can make our Tacoma’s as smooth as a Highlander. I got to drive my coworkers Tacoma yesterday with King suspension and it was still pretty rough but smoother than Bilstein 6112 on roads. I’ve read that Kings shine offroad.

 

is it needed? only doing a 2" in the front. what about 1"?

 

Today i installed 6112s on the highest setting, front of the truck sits about 1" higher than the rear(all stock in back) , test drove it like that 60mph no vibrations. I ordered a 2" block for the rear.

No problems at all.. manual transmission, I didn’t do anything to the back except change shocks. Aligned fine and drives perfect.

 

maybe I’ll weight it down with sliders and a rtt to smooth out the ride and save my back.

 

trying to ball in budget here man,lol. kings too much $$$

 

I think 6112's on 3/2 are much smoother than stock on the highway.

 

i did 6112/5100 about a week ago- 5/4 and a 3 leaf progressive AAL. no vibes.
I also have a dclb. you might not need any driveline spacers, i didn’t.

i had 5100 in the front at 5th clip with a .25” spacer, and 5100 out back with 1” lift blocks. the new suspension is super smooth.
also- the hype with the 3 leaf AAL is true, it is a massive improvement over a block, also no more axle wrap, very smooth.
