There's supposedly an unused airstrip somewhere that I think we'll be flying from. I've never been around Moab, but from pictures, it looks like an epic place to fly. If the wind is not bad, we may be able to actually fly THROUGH the Corona Arch, so I hear. Seeing it from the sky will be an awesome PoV. I'll have my action cam on the helmet rolling.

Shafer Trail was mentioned a few times. I'll see if I can get out there as well. Will be taking my main camera to get photos and video. I'm excited.

Looks like the Corona Arch is accessed (by foot at least) from the Potash Rd which is at the lower section of the Shafer Trail, so that may work out well.

I’ve driven through Moab probably 10 times, but always on my way somewhere. I’ve got to change that in 2020 and get out there. Enjoy your trip.

What are the heavily trafficked trails if I were trying to go alone? I have a basically stock TRD OR

Gemini Bridges is pretty good. It has a top and bottom trail.

I’ve been to moan so many times and I can’t remember any trail names except for that. I’ll have to bust out my Moab book again to remind me.

There is a nice trail up onion creek too.

Both of those trails are right outside of Moab. There’s another one just south that has a nice campground too. I’ll try to remember the name.

I’m not much help. Sorry. :)

Potash Road into Canyonlands NP and up Shafer switchbacks is awesome and easy. Chicken Corners is another good one. But your best bet is to buy a copy of the FunTreks book by Charles Wells; there's way more easy and moderate trails listed than I can remember.

I already ordered the book. I was just making sure I didn't get on any super remote trails and if I did have a problem no one would come by for a week. Is there cell coverage out there?

Late September. Probably the 24th or 25th and stay a few days.

If I remember right, most of the slick rock trails should have pretty good cell reception, especially on tops of the various hills. As the crow flies, they're only a few miles outside of downtown.

We are taking a month off and road tripping to Moab. Should be there around the 28th or 29th of Sept and spend a week or two doing a bunch of hiking and sight seeing in all the National Parks down there. Anyone able to tell me what the weather is usually like that time of year? More specifically we are in a RTT and wondering how cold the nights might get? :)
