well I think my truck may have reverted back to original. Did some speaker/tweeter replacements and a few other things. Had the battery disconnected for a few hours. Feels like the stumble is back and so is the hesitation. Guess its time to start saving for the OV tune

It cannot revert to an earlier tune, but some of the stored values can be lost. It should come back in about a tank of gas.

I really hope so. Its been a tank so far but will have to keep ears/eyes on it. Forgot how bad it was before the update

I would like to thank the OP @Ruggybuggy and @tonered for providing the .cuw file and Techstream application. I used TechStream version 14.20.019 to push the update using a Tactrix 2.0 adapter. ECU calibration was successful after about four minutes of Low Oil Pressure this and Brake Override Malfunction that (you know, the normal flashing warnings). I did have 04B12 previously. Of course 04B13 is installed now. Techstream cleared all DTCs and I went for a test drive. Very happy with how the truck performs now! Throttle response is way better and there is definitely more area under the curve so to speak. More available power & torque where it was needed most. Thanks again all!

Ugh, drove 100 miles to my nearest Toyota dealer yesterday for my appointment. Unwilling to install the update. Insisted it was for A/T only, even when shown the TSB. Dang!

That sucks man. My dealer did the update no problem, they did say its for AT only first though. I did show them the TSB pdf from TW and they did it, took them about 40 mins. Did feel a slight power bump in lower rpm range.

    Good luck.

Just do it yourself. Or hit someone up near you with a Tactrix that can do it for you.

I love spending money (lol), but I can't justify spending $180 for an adapter I'll use once. I'm near Walsenburg, CO (BFE), I'd be willing to pay to borrow an adapter if someone is close (Co Spgs, Pueblo, Trinidad).

Unless I can use one of those generic OBD-II/USB adapters. Flashed an Audi with one once, worked fine.

Don't go the Generic route. I have both. The generic cable doesn't have the capability. Hopefully someone nearby can help you out. Otherwise, if you decide to OVTune your truck, you'll be getting a Tactrix anyways.

Interesting, maybe I *will* buy one then. Side note, is that your VPN company? Better than Nord? I could be convinced to switch...

BTW, if you read my post #3021, there is a printout that i got from my dealer when they did the TSB. Maybe you can email that to them? Hope that helps.

Thanks! I actually had this page of the thread pulled up and showed them, no dice. They said they have to replicate the "problem" (I don't have any surging issue, just want to get the flash for curiosities sake), before they can flash anything... So I think I'm SOL at that dealer. Considered offering them money to just perform the damn flash, but now that I know I can use the Tactrix to OVTune the car, I'm thinking more about just going the DIY route.

Those bastards. I had no "hesitations or surging", i just wanted to make sure i was on the latest update. They didnt have to replicate or anything. Maybe my dealer is not so bad after all... noo they are bad.

Hold on to your butts. There's 04B14 out in the wild. It was installed on a 2017 MT.

We're looking for the TSB or the CUWs if anyone has a line or idea.

Nothing is showing up yet on the NHTSA site.

    It's the Covid-19 ECU revision.
