Upgraded to iPhone 11 at Christmas from 6s and my messages stopped working - get a message and other than the phone vibrating in my pocket nothing on the display. Messed with the settings, have done all the updates to the phone even installed Entune on the phone (have no idea what that’s supposed to do). Still no messages.

I’ve tried to read all the threads on it but most are old and not finding any solutions.

That and the issue that Apple Maps doesn’t talk to the system either are all the problems I have that I care about right now.

    any solutions yet?

    thanks

How are you connected? BT or USB? Have you gone into settings, Bluetooth and checked the settings for the device? Mines labeled “car accessory” and there’s an option to select “show notifications”

Here's my post from Dec on this issue. I'm happy to say that messaging continues to work for the past 3 months without problems. Going to the 0e071 map update was apparently the trick....

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, here's my experience. Text messages showing up in Entune has never been reliable. They worked for about a week after I got my truck and then stopped working. No changes of course to settings or OS on the phone. Finally after about 6 months and watching a couple of YouTube videos and dipping around with every setting known, texting worked great for a year and a half. No problems at all.

Then I upgraded to the iPhone 11. I paired the phone and texting did not work. I disconnected the phone and then reconnected (not unpairing and re-pairing) and texting worked great for a week.
Then it stopped. Not sure why. I tried doing everything including deleting all personal data from the Entune system, rebooting phone, deleting the Bluetooth connection, making sure the enable notifications was checked. It just wouldn't work. I didn't update anything from the day it last worked to the next day when it didn't work.

Then, just today I installed the new map software 0e071 from 0e185. Magically, the text messages started working again. Not gonna hold my breath that this will last because I'm sure the wind will blow from the south instead of the north and just as magically, the texting will stop working.

Anyway, not sure that the new nav software had anything to do with it working again. The new cards are pretty cheap on eBay so it might be a solution for any of you that are frustrated enough to do this instead of taking a baseball bat to the head unit.

I’d prefer not to use Apple Maps too but if I link from contacts it goes to Apple Maps, anyone know how to fix that so it defaults to Google Maps?

I’VE GOT THE FIX FOR MAPS!!!!

when you’re in your vehicle and connected select an address using Apple Maps (default from Contacts). Get to the point where you select GO and maps starts navigating. Click on the little grey line center bottom of screen. The Route Card will open. Bottom right corner will show the Bluetooth icon over Audio.

click on the audio and m as me sure everything is turned on and the voice commands will start working.

don’t try this with out being paired as the screens are different

Do you have screen shots of these settings? I’m very interested in this if it works but I can’t see the setting you’re referring to when clicking the gray line.

Nevermind I figured it out. Thanks for the tip.

Only thing different in the pics is the third one. The setting for voice prompts to your truck will be on the third pic when you’re in the truck and connected via Bluetooth. I took the screens when I came back in the house. Thanks again for the insight!

If I could figure out how to
Upload a picture I’d do it. but right now let me talk you through it.
On your snap you show a black picture with a speaker. If you have connected to your truck it will show up with the Bluetooth icon. Click on that and turn everything on. Including HFP prompts.

I’ve already done it. Posted screen shots of it also. Thanks for the info though I’d have never known about it.
