I noticed only a slight mpg change with the Wildpeaks. But I went up 1 size to 265/75R16 which is 1" larger diameter. I think mine were about $750 mounted and there was a rebate at the time.

 

i went from 285's to 295's and i noticed a difference.
I'm not sure how drastic it is since i haven't really gotten any good km's on yet, mostly just short city commutes.

 

Wow killer price. I was $300/tire after tax/levy/mounting/balancing for the LT. Only $250 per for the 33s

 

They were a great deal! And forgot to mention that they've been quiet on the road so far. And are winter rated.

 

If I remember correctly I paid about $780.00 all in - $80 mail-in rebate for 265/70R17 and mine are P-rated

don't worry, fucking toyota has evap canister problems for over 20+ years across all truck/suv lines

if your truck is a high mileage daily driver don't tie yourself in knots worrying about all the cool mods you wanna do for the .01% of the time you are offroad and make your truck ride like sh-t for the other 99.99%. for all the talk about how capable these trucks are in stock form, there is certainly no shortage of mods "you have to do" the second you leave the pavement according to the forums. in reality, good 32" all terrain tires and skid plates will get you really far around here.

Best advice. Lots can be done on 31-32’s. Biggest thing is skids. You figure the south trail in ardbeg is a pretty decent trail that’s loads of fun that can be done stock. Why spend? If you want to that’s a different ball game. Keeping up with the Jones can be a slippery slope around here. If you like to tinker though and it’s a hobby then that’s a different ball game.

putting fiction aside; as i had mentioned before, and since talking to @tacoma16 about it over the weekend, i'm just going to let the suspension work till it dies. If i break them on our trails, that means i do enough wheeling to warrant a new setup. But if it keeps up, then what i have is adequate enough to keep up with you guys, albeit a little more bumpier.

I had been over analyzing getting suspension for some time with the 1000 possible options and combinations and thankfully i gave up on it for now.
I still have your recommendation in mind


As for skids @pete37 i need new ones already, which ones can you get in? RCI?

so the problem of weak bumper mounts on our trucks is real. after some heavy winching over the last couple big trips and the winchfest that was Winter Wheeling at Ray's there was daylight between my SOS bumper and the frame horns. welds appeared to be fine.

i got around to installing the BAMF brackets i ordered a while back this past weekend. had to drill a couple holes in an awkward spot in the bumper for the lower forward facing bolt on the BAMF bracket which means the bolt isnt going through 100% straight but close enough and this thing isnt going anywhere now. These brackets are as beefy as advertised.

 

Also, you technically don’t need a lift to fit bigger tires....having suspension for more travel and to handle weight is really a benifit as well. So over time if you find a winch, skids and sliders start weighing you down you can upgrade. With all the weight stuff usually wears out quicker anyways.

 

I'll post photos up of my C4 reinforcements when i get them back, currently getting cleaned and prepped for paint. granted it's being installed to support my SSO hybrid
this way we can compare one and the other. at least this way we'll know whether to go C4 or BAMF.

 

I never really wanted a lift to begin with, maybe an inch at most but most aftermarkets can change from 0 to +2inches anyways. But my original intention originally, was as you said, purely to compensate for the extra weight of skids, plates, and the bumper.


Unless i misunderstood, as per @honkonbobo 's recommendation for the 600lb spring with 14" travel, IIRC the factory spring is weighted to be around 710lb/inch but is much shorter https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...2016-tacoma-presented-by-toytec-lifts.395798/
