Going for 2" lift up front and shooting for level, if it ends up with a rake, I'm fine with that.

Talked to Marie from headstrongoffroad on the different options. She wrote

    Front:

OME 887 coils approx. 1.75” of lift
OME 888 coils approx. 2.25” of lift

Depending on selection you can also run the top plate spacers. We have a ¼” tps that will provide around ½” more lift and a ½” spacer that will provide around 1” more lift.

    Rear:

The single leaf provides approx. 1.5"-2" of lift
The 3-leaf provides approx. 1.5" of lift with the factory overload removed and approx. 2" with it retained. single harsher ride, 3 leaf better on road ride.

Bed is usually always empty except for a bin that has basic recovery gear. No aftermarket bumpers. Forest Roads with occasional challenge spots. No rock crawling.

    *****************************************************************

I've read the springs sag, so which springs should I shoot for? I would like to avoid purchasing new UCAs.

My initial choice was, OME 888 for 2.25", then 3 leaf for 1.5". To shoot for level. ECGS Bushing install, do I need new bumpstops? Should I get the 1/4 spacer for taco lean? Any other lift required items I am missing?

Thanks in advance, I've done a lot of research and as much as it is informative it is also frustrating. Haha

I am doing the same thing as you. Looking around gathering information and hoping I make the right decision when I do.

Nice! Hopefully we can get some feedback. If you get any info let me know!

I know people just do the ECGS bushing with the lift install. I just wonder if there is any other lift items I should be considering. Want to do it right.

I have OME 887’s with Nitros front and rear, and Dakar Med pack. Very slight rake. Have 8,500 miles and no real sag I can notice. CV angle is great, no ribs touching. Alignment with caster moved as far forward as possible with stock UCA’s and I’ve had no rubbing with 285/75r16’s. No CMC needed either.

    Sweet ride.

I really want to do 285s without CMC but seems you have to. Crazy that you didn’t! I was going to settle with 275/70/17

I have never done a CMC with 33’s on my FJ, 4R or the taco. Get a good alignment and ask them to max the caster and you should be fine. No abnormal tire wear, on any of the three vehicles.

edit: always had spidertrax with OEM wheels, too.

Some people have talked about vibs from rear and adding shims to the rear to fix? Did you have to do that? And did you do the ECGS switch?

I did the shim for the driveline from OME, but that’s it. No issues to report.

from my understanding, once you lift it, you WILL or WILL NOT have vibes. You wont know untill you lift it. So you wont know if you need the shims or ECGS bushing untill you lift it and feel vibes. also people have done carrier bearing drop kit to help with vibes too.

Nope, day 2 nothing noteworthy of a vibration. It's close to a 3" all around

Kind of unrelated but I just lifted my 2019 OR with the eibach pro kit set to first notch and dakar medium leaf packs. Got just under 2 inches up front and just over 2 in back. I'm getting a vibe on decel around 20 mph and a random vibe around 60 to 65 mph. Going to try the carrier bearing drop first since I already ordered it. If that dont work I will measure driveline angles and shim if need be.

Just this past weekend I installed 5100s front with extended length 5100s on rear, 887 coils, Dakar med duty leafs. But I opted to install jba high caster uca I highly recommend this setup, even without the uca. Truck is level with about 3inches in the front and 2 3/4 in the rear.

Other than the vibe issues, how does the ride compare to the stock suspension?
