    On my way back from Tulsa yesterday my TPMS light started blinking. I stopped and checked my tires and they were all good. Tire pressures were fine when I got home so I guess I have one or more sensors with low batteries. Any idea what the cost is to have all the sensors replaced?

    I don’t know what they charge but I would just go to discount tire. That way if something happens a month later, you just go back and they fix it.

    When I got my new tires and rims, I kept my old rims and tires mounted with the TPMS intact, so I had to buy new sensors. I purchased 4 AC Delco TPMS for $22 a piece and Costco programmed them when they installed the new tires. No problems as of yet, knock on wood, I had them installed back in January.

    I bought a set of 4 new Toyota/Lexus sensors on eBay recently for $60. I was replacing tires and the shop installed them and made sure that they were working. Other than the need to break down the tire from the wheel to access them, installation is pretty simple and quick....actually they just need to break the bead so that they can reach inside the tire.

    You can buy 4 for under $90. If you're in need of new tires soon just wait until then and any tire store will install them free when they mount tires. If you don't want to wait figure about $40-$50 for instillation for all of them.

    Around 10 years is typical, you got lucky getting 14 years out of a set. The ones in my 07 are still good, but I'll buy new sensors before I buy my next set of tires and have them ready to install even if they don't fail before.

    Mine died a few months ago. Tossed them, deleted the TPMS and never looked back. Never was fond of such a useless feature!

    With all due respect the number of people who think this is useless blows my mind. How can you possibly say this? Even if you're checking your tires every morning, which you're not, you can't know nearly as much about them without this feature as you can with this feature. And it's ridiculously cheap for what you're getting.

    There not useless. Granted most of us check our pressures or at least I do every month or before a trip.

    Just a FYI...... Denso supplies Toyota with the TPM sensors and Pacific Industries actually manufactures them for Denso.....

    Note - The sensors for alloy wheels are different than the steel wheels....

    Thanks for all the information. Discount tire quoted me $80.00 per wheel installed. When I fired up the truck after work yesterday the blinking tire pressure light stopped. I guess the system started communicating again so I'm going to let it ride and see what happens.

    Ouch! I guess the time to replace them is when you buy tires. You could probably get a better deal. 2 birds with one stone as they say.

    Two sets of tires back, Costco asked if I wanted the batteries replaced when I did the tire install. Of course I said yes. They didn't mention replacing the TPMS batteries when I bought my current tires last year, so I asked about replacing them and why they didn't ask. The guy told me they just do it automatically now, and the price of the batteries are already included in the price of the tires/installation.

    Yeah, Costco will remain my "go to" tire store!
