Drummond Island is like Mars compared to the rest of Michigan, and it is great fun. Once you get off the ferry at Detour, it feels different and has its own vibe.

The entirety of the UP is different than most anywhere in the lower too. If you want to overland larp, go to the UP for a few days. There are also plenty of roads and public lands in the lower peninsula, but just about everywhere seems to be about 5 miles from a McDonald's, so not exactly remote

Shallow water mostly. They slide over the rocks in the stream.

    Welcome!

After a brief hiatus in Alabama, I'm back in Michigan for at least a few months. Would be interested in a meet up as well!

Last one I went to we rode some trails in Grayling and it worked out pretty well

As far as I know there are trails for all sorts of vehicle levels out there.

I am just going off what I've heard in the past, no personal expereince. I know people say its a good time though.

Northville Taco here. Just discovered the Michigan thread. Just saying hi and I hope the lockdown projects are getting done!

I’m turning the wrenches on the truck in all this downtime.

    Quick question for you all:
Ive read a lot of threads on gear oil and am not sure about the 85w140 Dino in Michigan for the rear diff. Has anyone tried it and if so what’s it like in our winter?

I’m going to run valvoline max life in the transmission with a full flush @160k.
