It won't change the price, but SSO said you don't have to weld the bar on. That doesn't address the light bar cut out, but eliminates one of your two issues

Glad I could help. I have the stage 2 myself, but have been waffling on installing it. I'm doing a headlight retrofit now... I may install everything, when the bumper is off to get the headlights out.

The slimline is badass and I have 0 regrets.

Is there any downside to welding the wings to the body? I'd imagine best practices would say to follow the install of getting the stage 1 done then bolting the stage 2 on and tacking it together then pulling it off and welding and finishing the seam. I guess the downside to this is if you're getting it powder coated the turnaround associated with that.

I think a welded bumper would look much better than have the seam showing between stage 1 and 2.

no downside to welding them together. We have had a customer weld it together because he didn't like the seam either.

Biggest question is... What are you coating the bumper with?

We powder coat all of our products, but this is a DIY kit so you can spray paint it, line x it, powder coat it, clear coat it, or whatever you the consumer choose!!

    Of course!

It was more directed at what others were going to coat their DIY kit with.

Any update on when the stage 1 kit itself will be back in stock?

Gotcha! I can't wait to see what the community does with these.. I am sure we will see something wild appear before it's all said and done.

We're looking at about a week or two, give or take. We want to make sure all parts are in house before we reload our website.

We're working on it as we speak, we plan to offer almost everything DIY in some form or fashion.

True. However, the benefit of rattle canning something is, you can always touch it up. With powder you're kind of limited in that aspect but even with all that said I still perf powder coat over the other options.

Received my bumper kit yesterday. I couldn’t resist and got started right away. Took me about 5hours. My welder is a Hobart handler 140, 110v.. keeping the wire speed reasonable, I was able to get good heat. I haven’t welded in a long time. It was great to weld it up. Armageddon armor is gonna be all bad for my wallet.. I’ll likely buy all the products they offer for Tacoma’s! Just put my order in for stage2.. and then, I’ll be patiently waiting for when slider become available!!
