Hi there! Our modules do not void warranty. We have numerous Toyota dealerships whom buy and install our kits on pre-sale lot vehicles and post-sales requests. Even more so, here is some info on a federal (US) law about putting blame on 3rd party after market accessories:

The dealer HAS THE BURDEN to prove that an aftermarket device or addition caused another problem that would allow them to void warranty. Hasn't happened once to us or any of our customers. However, this is NOT to say that SOME dealers are ignorant about this law. So instead of educating them as once they say something they tend to stick to their word (even after knowing they might be wrong). I'd say spend the 15 minutes and since it's purely plug n play, take it off then go to the dealer as to not even give them a scape-goat chance. Here is a summary:

Here is the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) law that makes it illegal for a dealer to void a warranty on anything unless they can prove that the aftermarket device cause the problem. Illegal to scape-goat to get out of a warranty repair owed to you. They can be sued. This is a FEDERAL CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT/LAW made to protect you from BS like that.

This is called The "Magnuson-Moss Act", I suggest you read on it, but I've pretty much put it down here for you to save you time.

    Source: https://www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/01/ftc-validates-right-to-install-aftermarket-parts

In a Consumer Alert issued by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the agency confirmed that “The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket part.” The alert outlines key provisions in the law that provides protections to car owners. As defined by the FTC, an “aftermarket' part is a part made by a company other than the vehicle manufacturer or the original equipment manufacturer.”
“The FTC’s reference to aftermarket parts is equally applicable to specialty parts,” said Russ Deane, SEMA’s General Counsel. “Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the warranty cannot be conditioned to a specific brand of parts, services or vehicle modifications unless those parts or services are provided free of charge.”
The alert notes that a consumer has the right to patronize independent retail stores and repair shops for parts and service without fear of voiding the new car warranty. The dealer/vehicle manufacturer has the right to deny a warranty repair but they must demonstrate that the aftermarket part caused the problem. The warranty remains in effect for all other covered parts.

The FTC alert may be downloaded using this link.

The alert was issued in response to an FTC complaint filed last August by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) and the Tire Industry Association (TIA).

Thanks, knew you would have the lingo they were looking for.

Is the 2020 HKey new and different from previous versions? Probably going to get a 2020 Taco and debating getting your remote start kit, since Toyota is leaving us 6MT'ers high and dry on that front, even though they now offer it through Entune for the automatics.

It won't stop ignorant dealers and I agree, to get them to change their stance on a "no warranty" call would require the MM Act, a lawyer, and some sort of litigation, or at the very least mediation but this is not free. Most would rather spend the funds on moving past the issue and submit to the dealer's decision (that's what sucks). Catch 22.

However, that story is very unique and unlike the products installed on that particular vehicle, it would be easier (luckily) in our case, to spend the 15 minutes removing the device than deal with the hassle as I had stated would be best as no two dealers are created equal. There are those whom are logical, and those that are snobs. Which you'll get is a toss, but a toss you don't want to risk going against you because there is no going back. This was one person's experience and it wasn't pleasant. I'm not saying this is how the story ends when the MM act is mentioned, but most likely the template for how it will likely end up because a dealer will rarely ever change their minds after saying "no go" to save face. They will stick to their guns because "dealers don't make mistakes" (even if they know they are wrong after the fact).

However, a dealer should not write a Bible thick novel starting with fuel pump and ending in "light bar" as the issue unless they can prove it as this is the main take away from the MMA. It offers the shield of consumer protection and the dealer is walking a fine line by not being knowledgeable about it. There are still old school minds employed that will be quick to say no...after all, we all know dealers want to get out of spending anything out of their own pockets which is why they love warranty work (guaranteed reimbursement from the factory). Someone is paying for it, but no wants to pay for it...that's the battle in a nutshell.

It's the same kit and connections. The TPMS color changed to pink, but same location for the cut.

If someone asks, they were never installed. Easy to install, easy to remove.

Don't suppose you've ever considered making even the HKey/6MT 100% plug and play, even if it costs a little extra? For us hesitant folk who don't like cutting/splicing into factory wiring... I know it is just one wire for CSC but you could insert a harness where the plug is couldn't you? What is the other wire that has to be spliced? TPMS? There a harness somewhere you could insert into to do that connection?

Easy to remove for PTS people who have 100% plug and play but not for others. Would involve cutting some previously spliced wires to fully remove.
