sounds like a nicely equipped truck - would they take a check for 34000? That would seem to be a fair deal for them and you and you could be on the road.

I would stay away from the auto on these trucks ...people say its fine is complete bs they just get used to it. The auto shifts all over the place . I literally had my auto Tacoma for 3 months and hated it so much traded it in . now I drive a manual love it .

IF I wanted this one I would tell the dealer to remove the following from the deal:
    Predator Pro Step bar 689
    Gloss Black overlays 299
Phone Cable & Charge pack 73
    Clear door paint protection 199
    Window Tint 399

With that said he can either mark it down to what I would pay elsewhere leaving it in place or remove the item AND the charge either way I will not pay the massively inflated prices:
Predator Pro Step bar 0 - I would not buy these at all Remove them and the charge
Gloss Black overlays 25 - Can be had from Amazon for $20-$40 and put on in about 20 minutes
Phone Cable & Charge pack 0 - I have chargers and cables for my devices don't need more for $73
Clear door paint protection 0 - I would not buy. Had it on a car previously, looked like crap in less than 2 years so I removed it
Window Tint 159 - I can go where you have tint done and drive it away done for about 150 to 170. Not gonna pay double

A savings of $1485 on useless wastes of money items.

These are things that can be negotiated, IF you stand your ground firmly. When I bought my 2017 it had running boards and the phone cable package in the deal. At the table AFTER price had been negotiated, I told the dealer in no uncertain terms remove both or I can drive to the next town and buy one there. They removed the charge but left the running boards and cable pack. Sold the running boards within 2 weeks of ownership and gave the cables to my Dad to keep in his RV when he needed a charger during his annual visit. Neither were of any use to me, though the running boards put a little cash in my pocket.

I will say again that I have no issues with the transmission on my truck. I've owned a Gen 1 AT and have driven both a 2018 and a 2019 Tacoma AT and now own a 2020.

Nice! I feel like that's a pretty solid price, and would be even better if you are able to negotiate out some of those useless options. See if they will swap out the Predator step bars for LED headlights...

Mine is fine too, although I only drive it in 'S' mode. Have not used 'D' in 2 years.

This is the major reason we bought a new suburban, got one with no miles within $5k of a used one with lots of miles. We plan on keeping it for a long time and I didn’t want someone else’s problem. Will be keeping the Tacoma for a long time as well if we buy one.

I have a 20 AT, came from a mazda 3. Before that I had a silverado and a jeep though. People jump in a truck and expect it to drive like a WRX. If you expect it to drive like a truck, it drives exactly like a truck. I have zero complaints about the 2020 transmission and programming. I only have 2k, I'm told after 5k when it learns driving habits it's even better. But I bought for the short wheel base, if I was getting a full cab and full bed, I'd consider the F150 or even wait until the new Tundras.

It could be a great truck - certainly decent mileage - but the savings just aren't there. Get a new one and it will break in based on your driving style, not someone else's. Like you, I plan on keeping mine for a long time - might be the last vehicle I buy - so I bought the truck I wanted...probably more truck than I need but I'm loving it.

The LED headlights are an amazingly affordable upgrade if you can find them on a truck you like. No brainer.

I appreciate everyone’s input. I parked my duramax in my front yard Saturday morning and had a decent offer Saturday afternoon, declined it. Had a couple other people look at it. Decided to drive it yesterday and got to thinking. It and my Tacoma are paid for and both don’t need anything so why sell them both and buy one I would have a year of payments on? I like my Tacoma I have and hope to drive it another 200k.
