I have a 99 Tacoma. When I try to open the passenger side door, the door will lock when I lift the door handle. I was thinking door lock actuator? Any ideas.

I'm assuming power locks since you said actuator. Otherwise, my bent linkage was causing the same thing until I replaced the lock assembly latch today. The door would not open until lifting very high and I could see the door lock going down when I did so. A couple of times it locked itself.

Thanks for the info. I am going to tear it apart this weekend and see if that is the problem.

If you get a chance, read my post “door handle problems” from yesterday. I attached link. I believe the rods got bent removing the outside door handle causing the lock button to sometimes lock when lifting the handle. I also had to lift my handle way to far before the door would release. If you’ve got power locks, that part is like $315 unfortunately.
