Your welcome! It was easier for me so I figured might as well share it. Anybody have any campground reports to share? Maybe more could be added to the list?

My Top 3 choices would be Hidden Valley in Joshua Tree, Alabama Hills and Texas Springs in Death Valley.

Just looked this over and see you listed Rock Creek Lake. That spot is one of my all time favorites.

Don't think anyone mentioned these yet but this is where I like to go:

Doheny SB in Dana Point: ocean front camping if you can get a spot

Moro Campground in Crystal Cove (Laguna): Oceanside camping on the cliff (very clean, no fire pits allowed)

Lake Perris SRA: Good amount of space between camp sites if you opt for no hookups, 5 min walk from the lake

Chilao Campground, just north of Pasadena: my go-to for winter camping, usually open year round. Slightly wooded and great views of the city.

I would check out the Kelso Dunes Campground in the Mojave National Preserve. (free but no toilets)

You can hike up the dunes for an epic experience... they are way bigger than they look!

Both Recreation Resource Management (RRM) and California Land Management (CLM) have begun cancelling reservations on recreation.gov through the month of May. Specifics will vary based on location. Cancellations will continue until such time as a firm date for opening the campgrounds is known.

The Inyo National Forest has extended the cancelled the issuance of Wilderness permits, including Mt. Whitney day and overnight permits, through May 31. Cancellations had previously been through May 15. People with a Wilderness permit reservation that is cancelled will receive a notice from recreation.gov that notifies them that their reservation has been cancelled and a refund has been issued. The forest will continue to evaluate this process based on state and local health guidance.

Schatt's bakery is still closed as of this morning....

That's a bummer on Onion Valley/Kearsarge. I was hoping to do a one day backpacking trip out there in a couple weeks. I've done a couple trips there and don't ever recall needing a permit unless you continue into the John Muir Wilderness. Those trips were a while ago though and things do change.

I need some Schatts, Mahogany Smoked Meats, and several days in Owens Valley.

Pretty dead but it is getting more movement lately. Normally I have to wait to turn onto 395 but now look both ways and no cars only a few semi's. Lot of camp trailers on the road probably relocating.

MSM was closed but when we passed it earlier in the week it looked to be open. Going to cannabis shop this afternoon and will see. DWP has blocked access to most of the usual open camping areas only private (expensive) campgrounds are open.

Oh there are tons of stuff out there that DWP does not have right to close. But as a local you know this. Thanks for the info on what businesses are closed. Is Copper Top open? I've got several spots planned for two weeks from now. Almost done with nursing school then I need to get out there for a few days.
