Well I'm about to buy another Tacoma and will be doing tons of research and asking questions on here. My history is somewhat long and storied with them and with Toyota itself. My first Toyota was a brand new 95.5 Tacoma 4x4 SR5 ex cab. i had it for 11 years and about 185K(if i can remember) during that time around 1999 i bought a 1973 FJ-40 from a guy the next town over for $1800 that was a rusted out old deer lease vehicle. my dad and I did a full frame off restoration over nearly eight years the rig was as close to original as possible with only Wilwood disc conversion on the front. Every nut and bolt was bought NOS or from Specter Off Road. In 2006 i sold my 1995.5 Taco and bought a brand new 2006 double cab 4x4 SR5. hre's the juicy part i bought it on a friday evening with 61 miles on it and totaled it the following night with 91 miles!!! traveling north bound on on TX Hwy 105 going about 70 MPH there were 5 horses traveling south bound at an undisclosed speed... i hit a full grown mare! Needless to say 45 days and $500.00 deductible later i got to replace my 2006 with another 2006 exactly like it. two years later in 2008 i went to the dark side i traded my beloved tacoma in on a 2008 Dodge 2500 4x4 Cummins which i'm still driving and about to roll over 110K miles. needed the diesel cause i got back into motocross and my daughter got into it as well and ended up buying a toy hauler and 4 wheelers, have since grown out of it all again and looking to get a smaller truck again... keeping the diesel though!
