Recently picked up a 2019 Sport with Tech+Prem and I've talked to multiple people through the stock microphone that have been telling me I sound muffled. I've tried talking directly into the mic above the drivers seat and that didn't change anything. Also turned up the microphone volume input level on the H/U and that didn't help.

Anyone else experiencing this or have suggestions?

Yeah I have also been experiencing this problem. It's not isolated to just Tacoma's. I would like to upgrade this mic as well as the head unit to try and just have an overall better experience.

That's interesting people can hear me on mine, but I can't hear them I have the volume up all the way on my phone and on the head unit not sure what's going on. Maybe i'm just losing my hearing

    Cool stuff
Get a new Headunit if it’s really bothering you, I had to go that route. Best move I’ve made so far

My issue started once I took my truck in for upgraded alarm.... ‍♂️

So solution for my mic problems, was that the alarm and auto start feature were put on the same relay as dome sos call button. Being a 2020 it was wired same as a 19. So microphone was disconnected. Hope it helps someone on here

I have the same complaints of muffled voice from everyone I talk to through the BT microphone on my 2019 Tacoma Pro. Did not have this problem/complaint with my 2017 Tacoma Sport that I traded in.
