Anyone ever store their camper shell on its end?
My garage ceiling is low so can’t hang but was thinking about storing it on the cab end against wall.

Stored my ARE from a previous truck that way for about eight years. Just be sure to support where the roof line meets the cab wall (2x4 or something) and not on the edges where the cap meets the truck bed. It might pressure deform over time and bow in/out if you don’t. Had no trouble with windows or anything.

I ended up using it again on a newer truck... ARE sure made tops heavier duty in 1996 than they do now!

Neighbor helped me lift it up and off this morning - AND F*CKING dropped the shell!

it was like he had butter fingers - we were just clear of the bed and bam! Freaking on its end and ended up on its roof :(

Wow dude that sucks. Can probably be fixed, but likely be expensive.

That’s for sure. What made you want to sell it? I just ordered an optioned out ARE, just curious why some decide they don’t like having one on the truck. I have a flatbed trailer though so never need to haul big stuff in the bed. Market will be small for the cap with damage like that unless it’s someone who can fix fiberglass & paint, or someone building a rig that they plan on off-roading hard.

Love having a shell - just want to go with Alu-Cab instead.

Did five dump runs last weekend with it on no problem.
