I lease private land for hunting.
    I have 2 leases
#1 Is partnered with my bother in law.
#2 is leased through the company I work for.

I think it would be cool to offer some hunt trades for different states or something like that.
I could offer hunting on my #2 lease but since I partner the #1 lease It's not an option.

Yeah, the opportunity to hunt multiple states is pretty awesome but the problem is there’s no guarantee. Not owning land and hunting out west makes it pretty tough! There are amazing hunts available and you can make it happen year in and year out if you’re willing to put in the work. Wish I had access to private land to hunt.

I think everyone knows that's why it's called hunting, nothing is guaranteed.

Not trying to be a smartass about just stating the obvious.

I'm not even talking about harvesting an animal. I'm talking about even having the opportunity to...

My guess is that if you don't have the opportunity to then you won't be participating...

Unfortunately. How does the tag system work for you all out in KY? Never looked into it. There landowner tags available, draw, etc?

Over the counter anyone can purchase, all surrounding states are all over the counter,
the only states that are lottery or drawing of tags are West or Midwest U.S.

The kids and I walked the 200 yds from the backyard to the wetland behind the house today and found this.0B2DE00E-21A2-4F20-840D-4AACEED542B4.jpg
Significant size for this area, might have to take up bow hunting, usually rifle hunt at the family farm 25 miles away.

Study maps of pubilc land where it butts up to good privateland.our lease does and we go way in and actually hunt public land some, its where some of our best bucks come from. key is to find publicland thats not too hard to get in to private border.thats why we dont post where we hunt or what we get locally. dont want to draw attention to our area.know a guy that hikes like only 1/2 mile and hunts next to us on public land. he has gotten some studs.we actually have brought him out across us so he didnt have the uphill drag.

Just stumbled back on this thread, I primarily hunt private land but have been out on some of our public lands here in VA, hit or miss depending on what I was out for.
