So sportsman warehouse is having a $70 off promotion on 870 Remington shotgun! Wondering if I should hop on it?

870s have definitely declined in quality. I would put the money torward a browning bps.

I’d look for an older used 870 personally

I’d also shop for guns at a smaller local owned store rather than sportsman’s

Unless you're a waterfowl hunter shooting thousands of rounds a year I'm sure it will be fine.

So I guess this means you have the credit card?

Cause that’s who the offer is for.

Save up for a good one. If you`re committed to Remington, get a pre freedom group wingmaster. Pawn shops and mom and pops are great places to buy in January and February. A lot of people unload guns to pay Christmas debt.

I have three generations of 870s. I think they were definitely made of better quality parts 30 years ago, but I hunt with my newest one and have never had an issue.

A quality shotgun is much more enjoyable to shoot and will hold its value. I prefer a 20 gauge for quail and a 12 for duck and turkey.

I bought one of those Mossberg Shockwaves. Compared to my pre 68 Winchester 1200, and my ONG 870 it seems like trash as far as the action goes.

Maybe I got a not so good one. Never had a problem with it, it's just rough.

I picked up a pair of used 20 gauge 870s that I love, but I've heard of a lot of QC issues with the new ones :/

The newer 870's don't come close to the early 1970's models.

Bought this 870 Wingmaster from Outdoor Sportsmans Superstore for $239.00.

It appears to have never been used. It was issued to the Ohio National Guard.
