What method did everyone use to access the top two bolts on the bell housing of the 5vz-fe motor?

I haven't done it myself yet, but I think a few feet of extensions is the consensus.

Lower trans cross member tilt motor back, long ass extensions, preferably 1/2"

Biggest issue is the damn dowl pins, they like to seize on the 3.4 v6. I would suggest spraying the 2 dowels with a good penetrating fluid before you start.

Lower things as far as possible without damage .

Up with engine down with trans and T case

zip them out with my 1/2" impact.

I bought a extension long enough to do the job.

    every joint reduces torque

I remove and replace transmissions every day .
I use a 1/2 inch drive 5 foot extension and impact gun for all bell housing bolts .
On smaller trucks , I use a 4 foot extension with swivel socket
