Me personally? Nah. I'd get one with more miles and less $$. Or get a third gen for a price like that.

What do you consider as reasonable miles? Anything under 100k?

That’s more than I paid for my 15 pro. Granted my pro had a little more miles on it.

You'd be better off to buy a new one for $10K or so more with zero miles on it.

You're paying $5,000 less than new to sit in someone else's fart-injected seat.

CPO vehicles sell at a premium. But its not because of the extensive exam and repair work done. Or warranty offered.

Its because the customer thinks those things are valuable and will pay for them.

Yes, every once in a while a dealer takes a hit with a covered repair. But like any insurance program (which is really what it is) they make plenty 'o bucks.

If they didn't, they wouldn't offer CPOs.

That said, if you love the truck, ask you CU what loan is. Ask your insurance what payout for being totalled is. Somewhere in there is the real value.

If you are a 10+ yr owner, paying a bit too much up front is insignificant.

Hard pass. 5 year old vehicle with more miles and with an asking price of more than what I paid for my 2017 with less miles. You could get a 17-18 OR for that much

I paid that price for my CPO 2015 TRD off road dcsb with 26k and that was in 2018. One owner, southern rust free car. I didn't want a 3rd gen so my goal was to find the nicest and lowest mileage 2nd gen. The nada clean retail for that vehicle with that mileage is $29,100. I think it's a little high but I'm sure someone will buy it if you don't so you probably don't have much room to work with on price.

Everytime I see CPO my first instinct is to read it as "Crack Pipe Offer."

Looks like a very nice Taco, but hard to imagine that price. Just my opinion.

I bought a CPO. Didn't pay quite as much premium for it as the one is listed but being from a dealer and low miles there was a premium. The main thing being a stick shift limited my range of selection. Most used stick shifts are pretty heavily used (the word I'd use for ones I was finding was clapped out). This one popped up and the dealer actually called me. I was considering at the time just buying a new truck and he wasn't having much luck finding a stick shift, V6, Access Cab brand new either, so he was happy for any sale. This was early 2015 so Toyota was I suppose switching production to 3rd gen and apparently there weren't many unusual configurations to be found.

Anyway, I wouldn't personally go out of my way to get CPO. It's essentially a one year extended warranty that you have to fight the dealer to honor. Since you're buying a more common truck I'd value CPO as essentially zero. If the dealer is willing to price the truck competitively then it's maybe worth it.

The only real benefit to using CPO as a measure is that to be eligible a Toyota vehicle has to be less than 6 years old and have less than 85,000 miles. Then they give you a 12 month, 12k bumper-to-bumper and extend the drivetrain warranty out to 7 years and 100k. Normally a new Toyota will have a 3 year, 36k bumper-to-bumper and 5 years, 60k powertrain. So in this case being a 2015 the powertrain is lapsing on time so there's some peace of mind I guess.

What's up with the hazy unmatched passenger headlight? Check the frame for rust along with any front end damage.
