I am looking for advice on getting a Yakima overhaul truck rack. Is this an ideal truck rack?

It really depends what you want to use it for. Is it for a roof top tent, kayaks, bikes, or ladders?

There is another thread going on right now that has a lot of info about on the Overhaul rack. I like it, and I've used Yakima products for years and love them. My concern with it is they are expensive, and only work with the most expensive tonneau covers.

It's mainly for kayaks hualing but looking to try and rig it for other stuff like hanging shower bag etc. One concern is looking for the right length on the crossbars. I was thinking 68 inches but yakima recommended 60.

I don't think you would have any trouble running wider bars. The only issue would be if your mounting more weight to the outside of the upright, like if you mounted a cargo box extended over the side of the truck.
