I have 265/75 p rated tires on my 2016 4x4 SR auto with the stock 4.30 gears. I barely noticed a difference with power loss if not any.

I'm thinking about bumping up a size to 285s. Anyone have experience with this current truck with the auto trans 6 speed on how it would run with these tires? I know it's a 4 banger that always struggles, but will it be driveable on highway and maintain cruising speeds?

    Thanks

One factor besides size to consider is that most 285's are Load E tires making them a bit heavier, especially compared to a P-rated tire.

Yeah the truck drives okay.. but it definitely needs 4.88 or maybe even 5.13. It’s a slug and sometimes it gets stuck in 4th because it thinks it needs more time to get up to speed. On the highway I can’t use 6th at all, I have to keep it in 5th using S mode.

i have the 2.7 v4 my first ones were 265/70/16 it looked decent and recently I got 285/75/16 I had to cut the a little on the mud flap fender part due to rubbing. But I didn’t notice any decrease of power on both the 285 just ride more smooth and chill only thing Different is the roar sound on highway when doing 60-80

Here's my truck when I first got it with the 285/75/16 on 16x8 with 0 offset wheels. The auto could use more power but I'm getting used to it.

And now with the 305/65/17 on 17x8.5 with -10 offset.
