After reading alot of the previous forum posts I have become uncertain on if i should get the TRD Pro grille this time around. I have a 2020 OR with the pre collision sensor but NO camera. Ive read mixed reviews on the aftermarket grilles and the garnish for the sensor and Ive read that switching the grille might void my warranty.

On my previous taco (17) I put on the TRD Pro Grille and never had any problems with my dealership. They actually ordered and installed it for me and when i got in my accident they replaced it for me also at their collision center.

I would love to get the TRD Pro Grille for my 20 but Im unsure at this point. So I come to yall to help ease my mind on what I should do. Should I get it or should i not get it? If i should what grille and garnish should i get? OEM or Aftermarket ( I was looking at Cali Raised aftermarket TRD grille) Where is this best place to get a garnish from?

Thanks for any advice or opinions in advance!

Not sure about the warranty being void. I replaced my 2019 off-road grill with an after market non-pro grill. It was like a raptor style. I liked the look and the TSS sensor attachment they gave me looked kinda homemade, but it worked well.

just ordered a taco garage pro grill with aftermarket garnish this weekend. I can’t imagine it being worse quality than the homemade one with plexiglass that worked fine for the last year.

Cool man can you let me how you like it when it comes in? I just checked out Tacoma Garage and they seem really good and the video they had of the grilles was nice!

Sub'd, I am having the same dilemma. Really like the look but still want everything to function correctly as well.

Every Tacoma I see now has one, so I feel like at this point it seems like my factory OR grill is actually more unique.

This is a picture of the one I’m running now. https://imgur.com/a/vWuzL1j It’s not my picture, but the exact same setup and color.

Same... so I kept mine and mod'd it: Plasti-dip the chrome ring, added Raptor Lights and installed front camera.

Thanks man… yeah. Feel real good about them. I get jealous of all the people who can see them, but I can’t (since I’m behind the wheel).

Too many to list. I’m lazy
I had an aftermarket Pro Grille on my last truck with an aftermarket garnish and had no issues. Also took to the dealer for the TSS recall and they didn’t say a word. Actually complimented how good my mods looked. I went OEM this time because the one I bought this time wasn’t available anymore but I went with the aftermarket garnish. Still no issues with this one.

This is the garnish I use. As for popularity, I honestly think it’s just personal preference. I like the way it looks better than just about any other option you can get with the TSS but if you’re looking for something “unique” there are Other options out there just not many.

Bought the TRD Pro grill for my 2019 with TSS. Had issues getting the TSB done. Reverted to stock 2019 "smoked" grill and used the OEM SR black trim ring. I'm happy with it.

Since I haven't paid the truck off I don't want any issues with insurance/liability if something were to happen. Do as you wish.

I really love the new 2020 grill though. I would still use the black trim ring. That would be bangin.

I've kind of 'agonized' over some of these decisions too (grille/TSS, tires, lift, etc.)...we all want to make the best decisions. But it made me chuckle too as I thought about 'dilemmas' like Jack Bauer faced on '24'...like 'save the President' or 'stop the nuke from going off in downtown LA'. : )
