Today's turbo engines are not like turbos of even 10 years ago.

Ford has sold literally millions of EcoBoost engines and they aren't lining the highways broken down.

And now all the manufacturers are getting back into turbos to satisfy CAFE requirements while still providing suitable power for the vehicles.

They're in the shop broke down. Anyway, there's no way in hell I want a turbo anything. I'd have EV before that.

edit: Picture above is so far from anything they're going to make it's moot. The truck above is something I would consider, not a Focus with a bed.

What changed? The picture you posted is an old overseas Ranger. The new one will be FWD.

    I don't see much difference.

Really don't know why people hated on the Sport trac though either, esp. with a 4.6.

Way back when, there was a market for the Dodge Rampage. There is still demand for a small economical delivery truck.

    1) Meter Readers
    2) Pharmacy Delivery
    3) Auto Parts Store Delivery
    4) Termite Company Trucks

If I remember right, some of those were turbo.
I never say turbo's aren't for anyone, just not me. I remember some of the little Dodge cars going 100K miles no problems with turbos, hell a bud had a turbo PT Cruiser with 180K miles before it popped the HG. It just never ran after that. Fixed it, popped again. Fixed it, ECU burned up, fixed it, …….get what I'm saying? Ecoboost same way. I see quite a few make 200K. Then they ded soon.

I've yet to see a turbo itself last 20 yrs. I remember ceramic bearings being talked about 30 yrs. ago.

Speaking for myself but I won't need it to last 20 years. I'll be dead by then.

You know though. As much as I would love to have one of Ford's little trucks, I'll probably keep my Tacoma. This 2.7 engine will still be going long after I'm gone.

Ah well, yea. There's always that. Life is short to not drive whatever the hell you want.
