Finally got the full size 285/75r16 spare tire mounted under the truck. It’s a tight fit. Think it’s too close to the exhaust? There is a heat shield there between the tire and exhaust pipe welded onto the exhaust.

 

It took a few weeks for mine.

 

I keep my tools in a 5 gallon bucket and my sockets in a old sock.

 

My 08’ had 285s and was that close, never had an issue. Just make sure it’s not touching anytime it’s put back up there. If a shop rotates the tires (with “spare”) double check real quick after.

good to know! Thanks for sharing the info. Don’t mean to rhyme. I have zero room to the drivers side due to the leaf spring hanger. It’s sitting right against it. All I did was bend the fork looking guides back with a 3 lb hammer.

 

I did the same back when I had that truck lol.

What is it’s intended purpose? What are those silver cross bars?

 

Other than the two cup holders...

They are to support the front bed corners, add additional tie down points, antenna mount, and a flagpole mount (if you're into that sort of thing)
They will also allow you to pull the bed sides back in if they have already started to lean out from heavy racks or shells.

The silver mounts you see are for snowboards

Good to see what my rig will look like once I can finally mount my bronze BR6's on my white '19. I bought them when they first came out and now I wait until I can afford meats and a lift. Looks good!
