Give me a bit and I'll go out and mess with it. Off the top of my head, the secondary PIN is 8086.

Many thanks; no rush, obviously. I figured out the tone thing about ten minutes after I posted that; that was such an obvious setting I just overlooked it the first time. I see what you mean about there being options for literally everything. I had a conference call in which I had no part, and I spent the whole hour muted sitting in my truck poking around the menus, and I still don't think I saw half of what's in there.

Related: do you get a lag when speaking on the phone via CarPlay? I feel like there were a couple of posts about this in one of the various threads for this head unit, but haven't found them yet.

No, no lag, at least as I’m told.

Ahhhhhh, many thanks. I was trying to do it via the mapping function under factory, that makes sense. Between this and installing the N2 Designs remote start kit, my Tacoma now has everything I wished it had come with out of the factory. It's going to take a little getting used to the quirks of this head unit, fiddling with some of the settings, and mounting it a biiiiit better but... damn. Very happy I pulled the trigger on this.

Any progress on your issues? Any response from Joying or Zjinnova?

Radio silence from Zjinnova, and I never responded back to the email I got from Joying asking for my order number and a video of it happening. I sincerely doubt it's on their end. I'm just living with the minor inconvenience.

Yeah it definitely sounds far more like an issue on the zlink side than anything else. Still might be worth responding to Joying, they may be able to help you getting a response from Zjinnova. That may be overly optimistic, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised at their responsiveness, even during the holiday and then through the quarantine. But then again, if it’s something you can live with, I understand just moving on. I have limited patience with even the most helpful or customer service at times.

I just had the Pioneer DMH-1500Nex put in my truck. Really like it, quick to boot up, Apple CarPlay is great. I got a deal on the head unit for $380 CDN at a local shop.

Love Pioneer HU but couldn't get it to cooperate with my truck. Crutchfield had something not correct with wiring harness and crux...then maestro as well...something changed from 18 to 19 digitally they were still trying to figure out. Their customer service was excellent and was recommended this Alpine....works great...miss HD radio

Kenwood DMX906S wireless carplay. Had Pioneer last head unit and was durable but had to step into the latest and greatest tech and wanted to give kenwood a try.

I'd like an update on this fitting if it happens.

also does anyone know if the Metra 95-8235 bezel will fit my 2010? it’s listed as 12-15. but i have a 2014 radio and bezel installed currently and it fits fine. Reason i ask is because if i upgrade to an aftermarket unit i want a nice gloss black bezel like factory because it looks the best.

You'd have to change the whole top dash to the 2012 and up style for that to work. Looked into it and people have done it but it seems to be a great undertaking and expense. I just wanted to update my tech a bit and I love the wireless carplay feature. Haven't seen the 907s yet is it out ? What new features does it offer ? I got a top deal on the 906s so had to jump on it.

hmm really? i don't get what’s so different with that bezel seeing how a 2014 factory radio and bezel fits in my 2010. Are there any bezels that the surface is flat and not the golf ball finish? i guess i will have to go with a different bezel as i want the bezel to be glossy like my 2014 is i have installed. i can have a friend paint a bezel for me.

and the 907s isn’t out yet it’s seeming that it’s just the 2020 model as the 906 is listed as discontinued

I’m a bit late to the party here but I just order the Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX (9” display), ETA is 5/29. I’m stoked to have a head unit that’ll fill up pretty much the entire hole (TWSS) without having a cheesy looking dash kit filling in the blank a smaller display leaves. Wasn’t digging the halo look of the 10.1 either. I’d like to look at close to oem as possible but get all the goodies that aftermarket provides.

There is also a DMX957XR this year. I was going to throw that in my commuter car. Pretty much the same except with an HD screen. The same ones as the DNX997XR and the DDX9907XR.
