When I was at the grocery store at 9am this morning getting my breakfast on the way to work, line was out the door almost and the lady at the coffee stand told me it had been like that since they opened at 5am.

Apparently, the east side (the area populated heavily by hispanics, etc) isn't having that much of a panic. I can go to "Foods Co" or those other smaller grocery stores and still get my Charmin Ultra Soft and everything else.

 

I got hella lucky and the hot old lady cashier saw my one item and went to a closed register and opened it up, I winked at her and she winked back and I paid and I told her 'Thank you for your service' as I looked at the lines and she laughed hahahha ha
We still gotta smile and laugh at how ridiculous we are sometimes...

I called my mom yesterday and to my surprise she said it was pretty bad up by her in Marina, but then again her definition of "pretty bad" probably isn't what it is down here.

I'll let you know if we need anything lol. Never know, it may come to that. Right now I think we can order stuff through Costco Business using my wife's account that most people don't have access to unless they own a biz, and it seems they have stuff in stock still.

Yeah Marina/Seaside/Monterey only has a handful of stores like Whole Foods, Safeway, Nob Hill, and those places are always packed anyway.

That PUR water filter I got made the water taste pretty glad so nice little investment there. Got plenty of water anyway so if I got supplies it'd be for someone that needs it.

 

The PUR filter will flash red after 30 days regardless of amount of water filtered. Unscrew the cap, pull out filter, put filter back in and it will flash green for 30 more days before flashing red again.

 

I drink tap water usually so I'm not too worried about water, though we do have to buy bottled water to mix the baby formula with...barely found any a few days ago but if it comes to it we can just boil the tap water to clean it for her.

It's funny how the virus isn't even what I'm worried about anymore, it's the fact that everyone else is so worried about it and the panic it's creating. I mean what if this was an actual threat we were facing, like I dunno...a resurgence of the Spanish Flu that killed millions of people in the early 20th century. People would be absolutely losing their minds.

Interesting to hear that the first cases of Covid19 back in late 2019 were written off as bad colds and all those people never even realized they had it. Just came and went like any other seasonal illness. People really need to get some perspective on this whole thing

 

I couldn't even get on the Kroger parking lot last night. I went to a little convenience store to fill up. They were out everything but 91 octane.

Yeah when I poured multiple times, I saw the green light that flashes (since it's pretty new), which is supposed to be good for 2 months. I live alone, and drink a lot of bottled water that I have at home so I was expecting the filter to last me double that.

So that's exactly what was mentioned earlier in the meeting; the rest of us 'normal' folk are facing issues of short supplies because of all these panic-stricken idiots that are buying shit up for no reason.

I would think canned foods, non-perishable dry foods, etc. would be the first to go if people really went into a panic; good thing I'm stocked up there. I do have to wipe my ass and would rather do so with ultra soft Charmin than anything else

God forbid something real hits us in the time to come....
