Greetings fellow Tacoma Owners/Enthusiasts - first post.

My previous vehicle was a 2015 TRD OR Access Cab (final year of the Gen 2), the exact same vehicle as my new one (even the same color - Silver), so I am comparing 'Apples to Apples' here. And that 2015 Tacoma was absolutely the finest vehicle that I have ever owned in my long lifetime - never one problem, never even one visit for any warranty work; and I didn't think that I could be any happier with a vehicle.

So then, all my new 2020 had to do was be as good as my old 2015, and I would've been perfectly happy. But, much to my amazement, compared to my 2015, my new 2020 is vastly improved and better in every way, beyond my wildest expectations and beyond anything that I had even imagined to be possible. Evidently those Toyota Engineers never stop working and trying to improve things - Kudos to them!
Consequently, I am absolutely 'Over the Moon' happy with my new 2020 TRD OR Access Cab!!

I am also pleased to report that I have experienced Zero issues or problems thus far; and specifically no Tranny, Throttle, or Rear Diff issues that have been so often discussed here. Evidently they now have all of those issues sorted out & corrected.

I don't need or want a back seat, but I do need and want a 6' bed, so the Access Cab is perfect for me. I got the "TRD Premium Off-Road Package" (with all of the off-road suspension & goodies, premium audio, tech package, & LED lights). Toyota Accessories added were 5" Black Oval Tube Steps, All Weather Floor Mats & Door Sill Protectors, Mud Guards, and a Bed Mat. I drove it straight from the Toyota Dealer to Les Schwab Tires and had some good TOYO LT265/75R16C tires put on it. Beyond that I'm done - I prefer my truck 'Stock'.

Sorry for the long first post, but I know you guys (& some gals too) like that stuff, so ... Enjoy!
I am definitely enjoying my new 2020 TRD OR, immensely!!!

Oh, and I also apologize for the lack of pictures, but I'm just not interested in going that far down the 'Forum Rabbit Hole' - sorry, its just me.

My real purpose with this post is to hopefully alleviate any fears or reservations anyone might have regarding purchasing a new 2020 - my experience has been a very good one; so, fear not.

Lastly, I want to say 'Thank You' to so many of you members here, for your many helpful and informative posts over the years - you are greatly appreciated!

Noice! Enjoy your truck and welcome to TW. Just stay away from the Build threads and anything that has Meso's name on it and you may just be able to survive this place without modding.

With the tech package, did you get the remote start? My dealer didn't tell me about it on my 2020 Limited, but thanks to this forum I found it.

Uh ... not that I am aware of. Not something that I would use anyway, so even if I did have it (without even knowing it :notsure: silly me) I wouldn't use it. But I'm sure it is a nice option for others :)

Welcome to the forum from Eastern North Carolina. It's so refreshing to hear positive comments rather than the whiney crybabies. I also have an Access Cab. It meets my needs just fine. I've had one since 1992 and have never wished that I had a double cab instead.

As far as mods go, I stick with things that will enhance my enjoyment of the truck without compromising reliability.

    Enjoy the new truck !

Another retiree here with his second access cab Tacoma. My first was a 2006 2WD 4 cylinder with auto trans. I had zero issues with that truck until it was 9 years old and Toyota put a new frame under it. I questioned the idea of putting a new frame under a nine year old truck, but it didn't cost me a dime so what the heck. in 2018 I lucked into a new 2017 Sport access cab with V6 and auto trans. It was the last 2017 and they wanted it gone so I got a good deal on it and a nice chunk of change for my well kept 2006. So far my 2017 has been trouble free and I hope I get more good years out of it than I did my 06. This is my 17 the day I picked it up. My 06 is visible in the right rear.
