BTW... that is not dirt or mud you see on my truck. As it has been well established, by those much smarter than me, that the truck does not see anything more than the mall parking lot.





But seriously... a lot of guys down here, with snorkles, have had to remove them when getting windshield replacement. The window companies say it's too hard to line up correctly with snorkle on the truck... bullshit laziness? Probably... but that's living in CA lol.

 

Put on this carbon shift knob and dont remember if I said anything about it but I swapped my radio to my other one which is a pioneer degree-x9600bhs. Supposedly discontinued.

 

Hmm.. I'll have to check and see how far in I mounted mine. I used rivets so hopefully it's not so far over the rubber seal that it would have to come off to replace the windshield.

I've also heard that most places won't do it with the snorkel on, @Yetimetchkangmi is the first one I've heard of that was able to get it done without removing the snorkel.

 

Brake bleeding

Quick question... want to see if I can get some consensus on this.

I've always been told that you bleed the proportioning valve first, then go normal (farthest to closest). But last night I was watching one of @Timmah! videos and he says to do BPV last.

Not saying Timmy is wrong, (he's always my go to when I get stuck on something lol) just wondering what everyone else does.

 

i've always done it last. that's just what i've heard most people say to do though.

Got the new Borla 40664 muffler installed on my little 2.4 5 lugger, and adding the obligatory sound clip video from inside and outside the truck as requested.

I found out my Flowmaster had a huge leak once it was removed, it wasnt just that they make shitty sounding mufflers after all!

Stole this picture from the google... I'm trying to remove these hoses from my parts truck without damaging them. I have it all broken down except for the engine side of the hose that goes to the valve.

Heres my question: How in the hell can I get this thing off of here without ruining it? It's pretty seized up. I've tried a pick tool, twisting with channel locks, and just twisting and pulling the hose. The hoses on my actual truck came off much easier. I would cut it off but the dang thing is fairly expensive.

Do you guys know any tricks?

 

Well, when you put it back on, spray the end of the inside with silicone spray, that'll make it easier to get off next time.


Twisting and prying it apart gently with a rounded off flat blade screwdriver is kind of my go-to for getting them apart.

 

if I remember correctly, the process from the Toyota repair manual is right rear, left rear, proportioning valve, right front, left front. I’ve always done it this way and never had an issue. I’ve also never had any issues skipping bleeding the proportioning valve as well, but I usually do it just to be thorough

Went and picked up a shell I found a deal on.

 

Then stopped by a friends house where he and his brother had their trucks parked. A regular cab 1995 MT 4 banger with almost 300k on it, an extended cab 1998 auto with 250k on it, and my 2003 double cab with 196k.
